Teen Mom 2's Javi Marroquin, Briana DeJesus Split
The Teen Mom 2 co-stars have called it quits.
On Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, Briana DeJesus took to Instagram to confirm that she and boyfriend Javi Marroquin have officially ended their short-lived romance (via E! News). "We have broken up," she simply captioned a since-deleted snapshot of the reality stars.
She also released an exclusive statement to Blasting News. "Javi and I are not together anymore," DeJesus told the publication. "Our future just doesn't line up. He doesn't want me to get my surgery for a breast lift, lipo, and tummy tuck (which I'm doing in two weeks) because it'll look bad on his name at work. Also, I don't plan on moving in with him in the summer and for these reasons, he broke up with me."
However, it sounds like the two remain on good terms. "I have no bad things to say to about him," she added. "He wanted a wife and home right now and I didn't see a reason to rush. I wish him the best going forward, and I am sad things panned out this way, but this is where things currently stand. Again, we are no longer together."
For his part, Marroquin shared a number of articles covering the news on Twitter. In a quote tweet of a Radar Online link, which claimed to highlight the "real reason" the pair broke up, he wrote, "A lot of love."
According to E! News, both parties have since deleted an Instagram photo of them kissing, which was shared on their pages in December 2017.
Marroquin, 25, first confirmed that he and DeJesus, 23, were together in October 2017, following speculation on social media. "We are dating," he told People at the time. "We've been friends for a while and we weren't in a rush."
The former couple both have children from previous relationships. As Nicki Swift previously reported, Marroquin shares 4-year-old son, Lincoln, with his ex-wife and Teen Mom 2 costar, Kailyn Lowry. He has also remained close with his former stepson, 7-year-old Isaac, whom Lowry shares with ex Jo Rivera.
"It's none of my business, so my mouth is closed," Lowry, 25, told Us Weekly after hearing of her ex's recent breakup. "I wish Javi the best, as always."
Meanwhile, DeJesus shares two daughters, 6-year-old Nova and 6-month-old Stella, with ex-boyfriends Devon Austin and Luis Hernandez, respectively.
