John Stamos, Wife Caitlin McHugh Welcome First Child Together

John Stamos is a dad!

On Sunday, April 15, 2018, the Fuller House star took to Instagram to announce that he and wife Caitlin McHugh have welcomed their first child together, a baby boy named Billy.

"From now on, the best part of me will always be my wife and my son," the proud dad captioned a sweet snapshot of his little bundle of joy lying on his chest and holding his ring finger. "Welcome Billy Stamos (named after my father) #NotJustanUncleAnymore #Overjoyed."

Earlier this month, Stamos dished on becoming a dad with Entertainment Tonight, saying, "I've waited my whole life for this. I'm already so emotional and so excited ... I've been dreaming about our baby. I mean, I am really excited."

"I don't know what I would do if I wasn't having a baby right now," he admitted. "I've done everything anyone could ever ... I've had the most beautiful blessed life on the planet, and the most honest real thing I could do, I haven't done."

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Stamos, 54, and McHugh, 32, revealed that they were expecting their first child together in December 2017. "It would be a tragedy if I didn't have children and I finally found the right woman — the perfect woman," the former Full House star said during an interview with ET just before making the exciting announcement. "I know my parents are smiling down. I know they would love her. She's a gentle, kind, graceful soul who would be a good mother."

Since then, Stamos has been counting down the days to fatherhood on social media. "This is the longest 9 months of my life! #cantwait 4 #fatherhood," the dad-to-be wrote on Instagram in late March, captioning a throwback photo of himself from his Full House days, in which he wore a t-shirt that said, "Bun in the Oven."

The cute pair began dating in early 2016, before tying the knot following a five-month engagement in February 2018. The Scream Queens star had proposed at Disneyland in late October 2017, where he put together a montage of romantic Disney movie moments before popping the question.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
