Lamar Odom Responds To Kanye West's Nostalgic Tweet About Him

Lamar Odom and Kanye West are reflecting on the past.

On Monday, April 16, 2018, the athlete responded to his former brother-in-law's nostalgic tweet about him, which referenced their bond during Odom's recovery following a near-fatal overdose at a Nevada brothel in October 2015.

"My favorite moment of walking into MSG to play 'Saint Pablo,' I used to go to the hospital and play Lamar the album when he was learning to walk and talk again," West tweeted on Sunday, April 15, captioning a snapshot of himself with Odom, which was taken at Madison Square Garden during the rapper's February 2016 fashion show. "Then we walked into the arena together."

The moment marked one of Odom's first public appearances following his long recovery.

"Glad I could be there 4 u bro like u came thru 4 me," Odom responded in a quote-tweet. "It was a big stage 2 be on after everything I went thru but it was worth it @KanyeWest."

This bromantic Twitter exchange between Odom, 38, and West, 40, occurred amid major drama and media attention centered on the former Lakers player's ex-wife, Khloé Kardashian, and her boyfriend, Tristan Thompson. The couple welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named True, last Thursday, April 12 — just days after the Cavaliers star, 27, was caught on video allegedly cheating on her with multiple women.

As Nicki Swift previously reported, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and Odom finalized their divorce in October 2016. While Kardashian, 33, initially filed for divorce after four years of marriage in December 2013, she called it off following Odom's overdose. At the time, he reportedly had cocaine and opiates in his system, and he spent three days on life support after suffering two heart attacks and a dozen strokes. Following his health battle, during which Kardashian remained by his side, she refiled for divorce in May 2016.
