The Untold Truth Of Briana DeJesus

When Teen Mom 3 ended in November 2013, Briana DeJesus resumed her normal life as a young woman living in Orlando. Unlike the ladies of Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2, DeJesus put her energy into finding a solid career outside of reality television, and she completely abandoned her life in the spotlight. All of that changed, however, when MTV came knocking on DeJesus' door in June 2017.

Shortly thereafter, DeJesus jumped back into the limelight a la TM2 with a big splash. Although DeJesus embraced a quiet life prior to her return, she did a complete 180 in a matter of months — we're talking a pregnancy, breakup, and a massive feud with her TM2 costar, Kailyn Lowry. Whew, we're tired already. Of course, there are a lot of questions about how DeJesus' quiet life in Orlando spiraled into a whirlwind of drama. So, what really went down in DeJesus' world throughout the past few years? Here's the untold truth of Briana DeJesus.

DeJesus' social media antics

Some public figures would be better off if they disabled their social media accounts. DeJesus falls into this category.

As for DeJesus' most cringe-worthy message, it might be her take on the apparent suicides of designer Kate Spade and chef Anthony Bourdain. Following the tragic deaths, DeJesus took to Twitter on June 8 to issue a controversial take on people who end their own lives. In the since deleted tweet, DeJesus penned (via Pop Culture): "I know depression is real but I could never understand how someone can commit suicide that has kids. Yea, You'll no longer suffer but ur kids will. It's just sad. I would never want to die and leave my kids behind."

Of course, many were offended by DeJesus' perspective, and some accused her of perpetuating mental health stigmas.

"As someone who has lost their mother to suicide at the age of 13, I find this tweet hurtful," one fan wrote. "It took me years to stop thinking I wasn't enough to keep her alive." Another person added, "Saying suicide is selfish is saying, 'Although I don't understand clinical depression & suicide I'm going to judge people who die from it even if causes unimaginable pain + trauma and stigmatizes mental illness because it makes me feel better + safer.'"

Well said.

Her family's shocking secret

DeJesus and her sister, Brittany DeJesus, found themselves in a dramatic paternity situation when it was revealed that they have different fathers. The shocking moment unfolded on an episode of VH1's Family Therapy With Dr. Jenn, when the sisters' mom, Roxanne DeJesus, confessed to Brittany that her dad isn't her biological father. Following the devastating reveal, Brittany told her mom, according to VH1, "I'm going to throw up all over you in like 2.5 seconds, seriously. I feel like I'm going to throw the f**k up." Yikes.

DeJesus — who was visibly upset by the confession — immediately confronted Roxanne about the identity of Brittany's father. When pressed, Roxanne admitted that Brittany's dad had passed away many years prior. Talk about a devastating moment.

Later on in the episode, Brittany learned her dad was shot to death while his back was turned. "I want you to know, that for the time that he was around you, he loved you dearly, Brittany because I was there to see it," Brittany's biological aunt revealed about her father's death. "What made it a little bit harder was, when I saw him laying down, I saw my niece in him, and it was really hard because she got cheated out of a father."

The silver lining in this story is that the news hasn't changed Brittany and DeJesus' relationship, and the two remain close.

Her mom's battle with lupus

When fans first met Roxanne on 16 & Pregnant, she was a fiery and energetic person who did a lot for her family. So, viewers were understandably concerned when Roxanne appeared worn out and tired in the premiere of TM2 season 7. Roxanne didn't seem like usual herself, to say the least.

Sadly, it was soon revealed that Roxanne suffers from Lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease. "They weren't kidding when they said it takes series of test to be diagnosed with lupus," Roxanne captioned a December 2017 Twitter photo of blood vials. "Thankful and grateful that I'm feeling so much better." Well, at least Roxanne finally has a diagnosis.

Given Roxanne's condition, it's more difficult for her to help out with raising DeJesus' two kids, Nova and Stella. Still, Roxanne does as much as she can, and DeJesus is hopeful her mom will remain healthy. "She's [Roxanne] ok for now. She's been a lot better but with lupus, you never know," DeJesus told Blasting News in January 2018. "Things can change over night we're continuing to pray for her and appreciate prayers and good wishes."

Feel better, Roxanne.

Her family didn't like her ex-boyfriend

When DeJesus started dating her fellow TM2 costar in the fall of 2017, Javi Marroquin, fans were hopeful the relationship would last. And to be fair, viewers had good reason to suspect things would work out. For starters, Marroquin has a young child of his own, and they both know what it's like to appear on reality television. In short, the pair appeared to be a perfect match on paper.

Unfortunately for the couple, however, Roxanne and Brittany didn't like Marroquin. What made matters worse was that they weren't shy about their feelings. In fact, Roxanne went as far to imply Marroquin was untruthful about his military career. "How many times can you say 'I'm being deployed' and not get deployed," Roxanne penned in since-deleted tweet from December 2017 (via The Ashely's Reality Roundup). "Stop using deployment as a tool for sympathy." Yeah, that happened.

Following Roxanne's dig, Brittany referred to Marroquin as DeJesus' "raggedy a** boyfriend" during an Instagram live rant. And not too long after the jab, DeJesus and Marroquin broke up for good in January 2018. We guess the relationship wasn't meant to be.

The cricket prank

One of the wildest truths about DeJesus is how she got back at her cheating ex-boyfriend, Luis Hernandez. The drama all started when Hernandez — who is also the father of DeJesus' youngest daughter, Stella — admitted to cheating on her while she was pregnant. Instead of cutting her losses, DeJesus went above and beyond to exact revenge on Hernandez.

So, how did DeJesus teach Hernandez a lesson? In a very bizarre twist, DeJesus unleashed 500 crickets into his apartment when he wasn't home. Umm, what?

"Wish @MTV was able to film and show what I did to Luis after I found he cheated," DeJesus wrote in since-deleted tweets (via OK! magazine) "I had keys to his house and brought over 500 crickets and just let them free inside his room ... He still has no idea it was me but I guess he'll find out now ... I also put some other stuff in his house but I don't want peta after me ... I remember we were filming at dinner and he's like 'omg there's crickets in my house I couldn't sleep last night, I had to vacuum them up."

Woah, that escalated quickly. We don't want to know what DeJesus meant about the PETA thing...

She has a "real" job

Many people might be surprised to learn that DeJesus has an actual 9-5 job. Considering most of the Teen Mom stars rely on their reality television paychecks for a living, this is a pretty big deal.

Following the end of TM3, DeJesus made the smart decision to start her own career. While DeJesus could have promoted products on Instagram for a few years (Flat Tummy Tea, anyone?) she opted for a job in the timeshare industry. "I work in timeshare," DeJesus told a fan in November 2017 via since-deleted tweet (via InTouch Weekly). "I deal with the backhand work of it."

It's pretty cool DeJesus continued on in her career despite landing a new gig on TM2. Making matters even more impressive is that DeJesus returned to work just a month or so after she gave birth to her second daughter, Stella. Viewers witnessed DeJesus pick out a daycare for Stella, and they got to see the emotional drop-off moment. Having to say goodbye to your infant after that time bonding at home is as real as it gets, right?

Here's hoping DeJesus keeps her job for the foreseeable future — reality television won't last forever.

What really happened with DeJesus & Kailyn Lowry

Out of all the Teen Mom feuds, DeJesus' bad blood with Lowry might be the most epic. Want proof? The two apparently got into a physical fight while filming a reunion special in May 2018.

Apparently, the drama went down after a "very, very emotional" DeJesus "went straight at" Lowry while the two were together on stage, a source told Us Weekly. Although staff tried to intervene, Lowry escalated the situation by telling DeJesus to "bring it on." Sadly, the two continued their brawl backstage. "Kail did try to fight Briana backstage," the insider added. "They had been kept apart all morning prior to filming ..."

Of course, this blow up didn't come out of nowhere. The costars had been at each other's throats ever since DeJesus started dating Lowry's ex-husband, Marroquin. According to Lowry, DeJesus broke a major girl code by dating her ex.

As for DeJesus' side to the story, she claims no code was broke, since the two women weren't even friends to begin with. Ouch.

All we can say is we hope these two get past their issues now that DeJesus and Marroquin are broken up. The reality stars have their kids to think about, after all.

Did she quit Teen Mom 2?

Following the drama with Lowry at the reunion taping in May 2018, DeJesus issued a weird statement during an Instagram live session. When a fan asked DeJesus if she had left TM2, she replied (via Starcasm),: "Yes I did. I'm DONE!" Uh, say what now? We can't imagine DeJesus would bail on the show over one fight — isn't she paid to create drama?

Here's where things get even trickier. Shortly after DeJesus claimed to quit the show, a report from The Ashley's Reality Roundup implied that there might not be another season of TM2. "No one signed Season 9 contracts this [past] weekend like it was originally planned," a source close to the situation shared. Hmm, does this mean MTV has finally had enough of the ladies' drama? Either way, it's possible DeJesus quit the show before MTV got the chance to give her the boot.

The only thing for certain is DeJesus will probably never have another chance to throw down at a reunion. "There is NO WAY they're going to keep doing the reunions this way because it's clearly an unsafe environment to have all of them together," a source added. "Everyone saw her [DeJesus] throw the vase, and were not OK with it. Now [the show's producers] have to figure out how they're gonna do the reunions going forward but it's clear that it can't stay the way it is anymore." Sounds like a good idea to us.

She's a big fan of plastic surgery

DeJesus has never been shy about her love for plastic surgery, a fact that's a bit refreshing when you consider how many celebrities fib about going under the knife. DeJesus' first surgery occurred in January 2016, when she decided to undergo a Brazilian butt lift, labiaplasty, and a breast implant exchange. Luckily for DeJesus, her surgeries were performed by the famed Dr. Michael Salzhauer, aka Dr. Miami. "Briana had implants and she wasn't happy with them so she went a bit bigger," Dr. Salzhauer said about the procedure, according to People.

Close to two years later, DeJesus expressed a desire for more surgeries. "I want a boob lift + implant reduction, lipo 360, tummy tuck ...," DeJesus penned in since-deleted tweets (via InTouch Weekly). "And I kinda wanna re do my lips... maybe a little Botox but we shall see."

Unfortunately, DeJesus' desire for a makeover may have been part of what led to her breakup from Marroquin. "Javi and I are not together anymore," DeJesus revealed to Blasting News in January 2018. "Our future just doesn't line up. He doesn't want me to get my surgery for a breast lift, lipo, and tummy tuck (which I'm doing in two weeks) because it'll look bad on his name at work." Trés interesting.

Her complicated relationship with Devoin Austin

It's no secret Briana DeJesus has never had a good relationship with Nova's father, Devoin Austin. In fact, the two had some explosive fights in her 16 & Pregnant episode, and Austin has never been a stable presence in Nova's life. So, it's no surprise people were shocked when Austin moved in with DeJesus almost eight years after their breakup. Fans found out about the weird situation in February 2018 when DeJesus tweeted about "living with a man." Umm...

Interestingly enough, however, the relationship wasn't romantic — Austin shacked up with DeJesus to assist with her plastic surgery recovery. Considering DeJesus broke up with Marroquin right before the operation, it makes sense her situation with Austin was strictly platonic. "No, I am not in a new relationship ... Devoin has been at my house to help with Nova and Stella while I recover from my surgery," DeJesus explained, according to Blasting News. "It's funny people would think I had the time to get in a new relationship after just getting out of one and then going in for surgery. LOL. But to clarify, no, I am not in any relationship and am currently single."

Whatever works, we guess. At the end of the day, it's important for Austin and DeJesus to support one another as parents.
