Bachelor In Paradise's Derek Peth, Taylor Nolan Call Off Engagement

Derek Peth and Taylor Nolan have called it quits.

On Tuesday, June 26, 2018, the Bachelor in Paradise alums revealed that they've called off their engagement.

"It is with much sadness that we have decided to end our engagement," the former couple released in a joint statement to Entertainment Tonight. "We put everything we could into our relationship and are heartbroken to go forward separately, but we know this is the best decision for the both of us."

Peth, 30, had proposed to Nolan, 24, during the popular show's season 4 finale taping in August 2017. They had gotten together in the series just months earlier. Despite their whirlwind televised romance, they seemed to be going strong in late May 2018 when Nolan posted a Friends-inspired snapshot on Instagram of the two packing on the PDA at a red carpet event.

As they concluded their recent statement, "We will still be present in each other's lives with support, admiration and respect for each other."

In other headline-making news in the Bachelor sphere, season 5 stars Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon recently announced their engagement. As Nicki Swift previously reported, Haibon popped the question on Sunday, June 18, while the couple, who had just confirmed their relationship last month, filmed the show in Mexico.

"He is my person. He is my soulmate," Iaconetti said on The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast in mid-June (via E! News). Her new fiancé previously told the publication, "It feels good to know I'll never go on a first date again."

Peth and Nolan are sadly not the only celeb pairing to announce a breakup this week. Elsewhere in Hollywood, Mean Girls star Daniel Franzese revealed early Tuesday, June 26 that he and fiancé Joseph Bradley Phillips have also called off their engagement. Meanwhile, Christian Siriano and Brad Walsh have announced that they've separated following two years of marriage.
