The Untold Truth Of Snoop Dogg's Wife

Snoop Dogg is an award-winning rapper who was also a friend of the late basketball legend Kobe Bryant. Beyond that, he's a former drug dealer and someone whose celebrity relatives may surprise you. Yep, that's right, he's arguably an eclectic fellow. And these details might have fans wondering what kind of woman could ever keep up with his fast-paced life. The answer? His wife, who happens to be the same woman who has been in his life since he was a teenager.

Snoop (real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.), married his "high school sweetheart," Shante Taylor Broadus, in 1997, per E! News. Although the pair nearly divorced in 2004, they ended up staying together and even renewed their wedding vows in 2008, as Ace Showbiz noted.

During the course of their relationship, they've welcomed two sons and a daughter into the world, and their proud mother often posts photos of them to Instagram, where she's also keen on sharing pics of herself and her husband.

However, despite Snoop and Shante's marriage surviving the test of time, they've faced at least one serious issue that could have ended things for good.

Shante Taylor Broadus' cryptic post about Snoop Dogg's alleged cheating

Snoop Dogg and his wife, Shante Taylor Broadus, have faced plenty of ups and downs during their lengthy marriage, and in December 2019, she seemingly spoke out about allegations that he had been unfaithful. Things first got messy when YouTube personality Celina Powell (who admitted to lying about being pregnant with rapper Offset's baby) alleged in a YouTube video that she had an affair Snoop in 2018. She also gave "details [about an] alleged drug-fueled sexual encounter" and said that the rapper "flew her out" to meet up with him and had "unprotected sex" with her, as Capital Xtra noted.

Seemingly in response to the rumors, Shante took to Instagram to post a somewhat cryptical yet undeniably sad message, writing, "U ever watch somebody u love turn into somebody u don't know." She added both a crying face and broken heart emoji to the note, and captioned her post, "Where Did We Go Wrong."

She also shared a rather graphic meme that read, "This is a snake's mouth, it all makes f***ing sense now." Although it was captioned with laughing emojis, we're not sure whether she truly found the situation funny.

Although Snoop hasn't verified Powell's claims, there are plenty of celeb cheating rumors that ended up being true.

Shante Taylor Broadus opens up about her hard times with Snoop Dogg

As we noted earlier, Snoop Dogg and Shante Taylor Broadus almost went through with a divorce back in 2004, per People. Shante opened up about this tough time in an interview with Sister 2 Sister magazine (via Bossip), explaining how Snoop's indecisiveness made the situation more difficult. "You're trying to leave me and you're asking me what you should do?" she recalled. "So he didn't know, it was just a lot. And you know I understand. It's hard for me and I'm just his wife. He's actually the star."

Shante also expressed feeling misunderstood at times, sharing, "People look at me and think, 'Ooh, she's married to Snoop.' They think of me as some other person and I'm so not that person. It's only people that don't know me, of course." She added, "But I think it's jealousy. That's all I can think because I haven't done anything to anybody but taking care of my kids and being a wife to my husband."

Despite their bump in the road, Shante believes the two work together well. "We're used to one another," the mom explained. "I mean, it sucks that his job requires him to be gone a lot, but I would prefer that than my husband here all the time broke and in my face. So, it works out. We're older now and I know that he's not going anywhere, I'm not going anywhere. We're here."

Shante Taylor Broadus grieved the death of her newborn grandson with a song

Shante Taylor Broadus and her family were left broken-hearted on Sept. 25, 2019, following the death of her 10-day-old grandson, Kai Love. Shante and Snoop Dogg's son, Corde Broadus, revealed the sad news of his baby boy's passing on Instagram in a now-deleted post, according to Today. "My Son Kai brought so much love and positivity into this world. His energy will live on and these 10 days of love will always be special to us," the grieving father reportedly wrote.

Corde, who has two older children, a son, Zion, and daughter Elleven, also shared a video of his little girl giving her brother a kiss, as well as an image of a dry-erase board that listed the day's agenda, including "Love + Light." In another post, Corde opened up about the moment his son passed, writing, "He died in my arms and that feeling of energy will never leave me."

The little one's grandmother also took to Instagram to honor the baby who was her fifth grandchild. "To My Fifth G Baby. Kai Love 9-15-19/9-25-19," she captioned the post that included a video of her singing The Dells' "The Love We Had Stays on My Mind." While Kai Love may have only been with them for a short time, he was obviously adored by his family and will surely be missed.
