Bratty celebrities are nothing new to Hollywood. And yet, the latest crop of youngsters accused of causing trouble continue to re-defining the term "brat," thanks to their numerous arrests, stints in rehab and meltdowns on airplanes. Find out which of today's most famous young adults are most in need of a time out.
No. 8: Conrad Hilton
Excessive wealth may be a breeding ground for bad-boy behavior. Take Conrad Hilton, for example. In 2014, the younger brother of Paris and Nicky Hilton was sentenced to three years' probation and a whopping 750 hours of community service for reportedly losing his mind on a flight. According to TMZ, Hilton pled guilty to attacking a couple of flight attendants on a lengthy flight from London to Los Angeles. During the scuffle, Hilton allegedly called other passengers "peasants."
About a week later, Hilton was arrested for violating his ex-girlfriend's restraining order, reports TMZ. He was taken into custody outside Hunter Salomon's home. In the restraining order, Salomon claimed Hilton became unstable after breaking up. She says he began showing up at her house and threatening to kill himself.
Trouble followed him once again in the summer of 2016. He was sentenced to two months in jail for failing multiple drug tests and getting kicked out his substance abuse program, reports Entertainment Tonight. Hilton was reportedly in tears over the sentencing. It's unclear if he's cleaned up his act since.
No. 7: Ariana Grande
Sure, Ariana Grande is an insanely talented singer with a seemingly endless number of hit songs; but she's also exhibited signs of being extremely—oh, how do we put this lightly?—bratty.
In the summer of 2015, Grande was cornered into delivering an apology for licking doughnuts at a Los Angeles bakery, reports CNN. The footage went viral and even launched an investigation by police and the local health department. "Seeing a video of yourself behaving poorly, that you have no idea was taken, is such a rude awakening, that you don't know what to do—I was so disgusted with myself," she said in her apology.
To make matters worse, during the video, she blurted out that she "hates America." She slapped herself on the wrist for that comment as well. "I am extremely proud to be an American," she said on Twitter. "What I said in a private moment... was taken out of context and I am sorry for not using more discretion with my choice of words."
A year prior, she was allegedly overheard slamming her fans after signing a ton of autographs. An insider told The New York Daily News of the embarrassing moment: "And as soon as the door shut she said, 'I hope they all f****** die." Grande appeared to deny the rumors in a series of curiously timed tweets.
No. 6: Scott Disick
For many celebrities on this list, cameras haven't always been around to capture their transgressions. That's not the case for Scott Disick, the most wild and unpredictable star of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
Disick, who shares three kids with ex-girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian, suffers from a well-documented drinking problem. In one example of his behavior, he infamously shoved $100 down a waiter's throat in 2010 for refusing to serve him more alcohol, according to People. His controversial behavior continued over the years and perhaps reached a peak when Kourtney & Khloe Take the Hamptons cameras captured him being assisted into bed by a bodyguard in 2014. Perhaps unsurprisingly, he and Kourtney split for good in July 2015.
Booze has been a constant problem for the reality TV star. He's been to rehab a reported four times, according to E! News. In fact, he went twice in 2015. The first time, in March, he stayed at a facility in Costa Rica but left after just a few weeks. The second time came in October, while Lamar Odom was fighting for his life after suffering a reported drug overdose. Despite his past behavior, he appears to be back on track being a good father and friend to the Kardashian family again. Here's hoping he can finally pull it together.
No. 5: Chris Brown
Chris Brown is notorious for being difficult to work with. Just ask his ex-publicist. According to TMZ, Nicole Perna reportedly quit her job representing the R&B bad boy after a heated text-message argument. At the time, Brown seemingly was upset his clothing line wasn't getting enough exposure. So, he reportedly lashed out at Perna saying, "I don't want you texting me compliments with no results" and urged her to "get in the game." To that, Perna allegedly let her true feelings show, responding, "Anna Wintour doesn't want to f*** with you. These editors don't want to f*** with you. The majority of my time is spent on damage control. I am constantly cleaning s*** up and having your back."
Eventually, Perna decided to quit her position, reportedly telling Brown, "Chris, respect. You're in my prayers." To which Brown allegedly replied: "B**** u in my nightmares." How sweet!
This incident is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the issues plaguing the star. At this point, he can't even go to a basketball game without getting involved in some type of argument. But, yeah ... that's for a different article.
No .4: Azealia Banks
If what the tabloids are saying about her are true, Azealia Banks is simply an artist with an incredibly short fuse.
Her most recent reported escapade, with Russell Crowe, resulted in nasty headlines pointing once again to her allegedly erratic behavior. According to TMZ, Banks was a plus-one at a dinner party hosted by Crowe at his Beverly Hills hotel room. As fancy as that sounds, Banks allegedly brought her nasty attitude to ruin a perfectly good evening. Sources for TMZ claim Banks stirred up drama by calling Crowe and other guests "boring white men" for their selection in music.
Things reportedly escalated from there after Banks allegedly made some rather crazy threats. "You would love it if I broke my glass, stabbed you guys in the throat, and blood would squirt everywhere like some real Tarantino s***," one onlooker recalled she said, according to the report. That's when Crowe reportedly took matters into his own hands by escorting Banks out of the party.
That was just one of dozens of alleged incidents pointing to Banks' unpredictable persona. In September 2015, Banks reportedly went berserk on a Delta flight from New York to LAX, according to TMZ, calling a passenger a "f**king f**got" in a heated exchange. The rapper is also known for engaging in Twitter wars— she most famously feuded with Skai Jackson, Zayn Malik and Lady Gaga.
No. 3: Shia LaBeouf
Let's be honest: by all accounts, Shia LaBeouf has earned his naughty-bratty-boy title fair and square.
To prove his brat behavior, let's revisit his Cabaret arrest from the summer of 2014. According to Variety, LaBeouf was smoking inside the theater and acting both "loud and disruptive" to the performance—even yelling at actors. As soon as intermission began, authorities cuffed him and dragged him out of the theater. As a result, he was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of criminal trespassing. To make matters worse, he was filmed chasing down a homeless man for his food in Times Square prior to his night at the theater.
Also earlier that year, LaBeouf found himself once again on the wrong side of the law when he was filmed head-butting a patron at a London bar. The incident reportedly stemmed from a nasty argument between a guy and LaBeouf's girlfriend's mom, according to TMZ.
And in the fall of 2015, the troubled star was booked on public intoxication charges in Austin, Texas after appearing very drunk before authorities. In that incident, an eyewitness says LaBeouf attempted to enter a bar but was denied entry, TMZ reported.
No. 2: Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay Lohan has had her fair share of drama in her short lifetime; from drug allegations to her almost never-ending series of arrests, her life could be turned into a soap opera, at this point. Not to mention, she's allegedly been very unprofessional on movie and television sets. In one instance, she was briefly fired from the B-movie The Canyons, according to a New York Times profile. The profile was published just days after TMZ obtained audio footage from the set of movie in which Lohan allegedly told her co-star James Deen to "do your f****** job" during rehearsals.
If that wasn't bad enough, she's even managed to annoy the cast and crew of Ugly Betty, her Georgia Rule co-star Jane Fonda and the one person you never upset, Oprah Winfrey, throughout her troubled career.
Of course, Lohan's allegedly bratty ways reach far back into her teen years as well. She's been in and out of jail for a number of alleged reasons, some of which include allegedly driving under the influence, failing drug tests and stealing jewelry. Sigh. At least Mean Girls was good.
No. 1: Justin Bieber
Of all the young celebrities accused of being a brat, Justin Bieber may be King, all due to his many, many, many tabloid scandals. Take the time he abruptly walked out of a Spanish radio interview after looking annoyed and upset throughout; or the time he walked off stage mid-concert after fans spilled water on the stage; or the time he quit Instagram after fans didn't like his new girlfriend; or ... you get the idea.
But perhaps his brattiest moment ever came in March 2014 during a recorded deposition for allegedly assaulting a photographer. In its recap of the video, TMZ described Bieber as "arrogant," "lovesick," "contentious" and "disrespectful." Which, if you think about it, is simply four other ways of saying "bratty."
