Why Hollywood can't stand Kylie Jenner and Tyga

Celebrity relationships are fascinating. We get almost as invested in their love lives as we do our own. But for every celebrity couple we absolutely love, there's one that we'd rather never hear about ever again — and Kylie Jenner and Tyga (or "Kyga," as they've come to be known) are one twosome we're seriously over. Here's why Hollywood can't stand the pair.

Their age difference

The pair first met in 2011 when Tyga performed at Kendall Jenner's 16th birthday party. Kylie was 14 at the time, and the 22-year-old Tyga was almost ten years her senior. Despite the rumors, the two claimed they were "just friends" until Kylie turned 18. In 2014, Tyga responded to rumors that he was dating the teen, tweeting, "Don't believe the rumors, been friends with the family forever. We're all just friends."

The public, of course, was skeptical. When asked about her youngest sister's relationship with the much older rapper in a 2016 interview with Complex, Khloe said she "didn't think much of the age situation" and claimed she thinks "they're cute together."

Tyga's creepy lyrics

If they were in a romantic relationship, Kylie and Tyga were smart to keep in on the down low while Kylie was still underage. According to LegalMatch, the age of consent in California where the couple resides is 18, meaning any sexual contact between the two before that time would be considered statutory rape. In August of 2015 (just a few days after Kylie turned 18), Tyga released "Stimulated," which featured lyrics presumably about Kylie that made the world collectively gag. "They say she young, I should've waited," he raps. "She a big girl, dog, when she stimulated." Um, yeah… gross.

They leave little to the imagination

As if Tyga's lyrics weren't TMI enough, in 2016 we were also treated with a few very NSFW images of the couple. First, Kylie shared a photo of her and the rapper both topless to celebrate Tyga's birthday. Then, photographer Sasha Samsonova dropped a short film featuring the two showering together. "The whole deal with this video is that it's a very personal experience," Samsonova told W Magazine about the video. Yep, definitely personal. According to W Magazine, the video was only meant to feature Kylie, but Tyga snuck in on the action.

Tyga allegedly left his family for her

In August of 2014, TMZ reported that Tyga and Blac Chyna called it quits. This is around the same time that Kylie and Tyga began sharing photos of each other on social media (though still claiming to be "just friends"). In 2015 during an on-air interview with The Breakfast Club, Amber Rose pretty much confirmed that Tyga left the mother of his child for Jenner, telling listeners that Tyga "should be ashamed of himself. He has a beautiful woman and a baby and left that for a 16-year-old who just turned 17." Ouch. Unsurprisingly, Tyga denies these claims, and called them "ridiculous" in a 2015 interview with The Breakfast Club.

Kylie ditches her family for him

Tyga isn't the only member of this twosome who puts this relationship before family. In a 2015 episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Tyga tags along on a Kardashian family trip to St. Barts — which ends up annoying Kendall. "I was really looking forward to being with Kylie on this trip," Kendall says in the episode, later telling Kylie, "You could have taken this time to be with your family."

Cheating rumors

Since Kylie and Tyga confirmed their relationship, rumors of Tyga's infidelity haven't ceased. One of the first rumors started in 2015 when Tyga's ex, Blac Chyna, shared screenshots of texts allegedly from the rapper claiming he wanted to get back with her and "be a family again."

Later that year, news broke that Tyga was cheating on Jenner with transgender actress Mia Isabella. "It shouldn't be news it should be normal for anyone and everyone to be allowed to love who they choose," Isabella responded, according to Vh-1. "This person is not the man that I love but I have loved a few incredible and celebrated men in my life." The rumors didn't stop there. In 2016, Tyga was accused of texting an underage model and inviting another model back to his home while Jenner was out of the country.

The never-ending marriage rumors

Cheating rumors aren't the only ones that've circulated through Hollywood concerning Kyga's relationship. Many tabloids have also constantly reported "proof" that the two are getting hitched. Jenner first addressed such rumors in 2014 when she tweeted, "in not trying to become a rapper, I'm not getting married, & I'm not pregnant…." and then again in 2015 with this tweet. However, Jenner went on to fuel the marriage rumors on Snapchat with a video in which Tyga called her his fiance.

They keep breaking up and getting back together

Kylie and Tyga are quite possibly the most on-again, off-again couple in all of Hollywood. TMZ reported their first breakup in November 2015, citing a source who said the breakup was caused by "something Tyga did." But just a couple days later, Kylie snapped a photo of her and Tyga together with the caption "everyone needs to chill."

In an appearance on Ellen that month, Ellen DeGeneres addressed their volatile relationship. "I don't know what's going on," DeGeneres said to Jenner. "All I hear is that you're with Tyga, you're not with Tyga…" to which Jenner responded that "people have it all wrong." Do we have it all wrong though, Kylie? We're not so sure about that. As of April 2017, it appears that Kylie and Tyga are in an off-again phase of their relationship. The last photo Kylie shared of them together is from Valentine's Day, and Tyga's recently been seen out with another woman who People reports is a "Kylie Jenner look-alike." We can't keep up!
