Patton Oswalt Hits The Red Carpet With Date Meredith Salenger

Fourteen months following the tragic loss of his wife, Patton Oswalt appears to be dating again.

The comedian held hands with his date, The Journey of Natty Gann actress Meredith Salenger, at the New York City premiere of Baby Driver on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. Oswalt, 48, looked happy and relaxed at the event, donning a stylish, blue blazer and button-up outfit, while Salenger, 47, dressed up in a cool leather jacket, black blouse, and floral skirt getup.

Later in the evening, Salenger shared an adorable selfie of the two at the theater, which the King of Queens actor later retweeted—and it's seriously aww-worthy!

As Entertainment Tonight reported, many Twitter users reacted with excitement to the photo, which documented the couple's public debut. One commenter, in particular, kindly wrote, "Patton Oswalt is hanging with my childhood crush. This is a cool day. Very cool. Love to see him smiling!"

And earlier this week, Salenger posted a photo of the two—unbeknownst to fans at the time—holding hands on Instagram. Her sweet caption read, "I'm super in love guys. Just FYI," complete with a heart emoji.

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Oswalt's late spouse, Michelle McNamara, died unexpectedly in her sleep on April 21, 2016 at the age of 46. The actor revealed the news in a statement to the Associated Press (via People) in February 2017, "We learned today the combination of [prescription] drugs in Michelle's system, along with a [heart] condition we were unaware of, proved lethal."

In 2016, Oswalt told People that he and McNamara, a true crime writer, met in 2003. "It was love pretty much immediately for me," he expressed. The two married in 2005.

Over the last 14 months, the actor has openly discussed his grieving process. And on the one-year anniversary of her passing, the actor paid tribute to her memory in a heartbreaking yet inspiring note on Facebook. "One year in. Another year starting. It's awful, but it's not fatal," he wrote.

That one Twitter user really said it best: We love to see Patton smiling.
