Harry Styles' Stepfather Passes Away At Age 57

Harry Styles and his family are mourning the loss of his stepfather, Robin Twist.

Entertainment Tonight reported that Twist passed away at 57 years old following a battle with cancer.

Styles' rep wrote to the publication in a statement on Thursday, June 22, 2017. "Harry's stepfather, Robin Twist, sadly passed away this week after a long battle with cancer," the statement read. "The family asks for privacy at this time."

As Us Weekly highlighted, Styles' mother, Anne Cox, married Twist in 2013. The "Sign of the Times" singer served as Twist's best man, and, as he told the publication later that summer, he took this honor very seriously.

"I practiced [my wedding speech] on my own for days beforehand, on the sofa reciting it to myself. I tried to make it have a bit of everything," Styles revealed. "When everyone thought it was going to be really emotional, I pulled the rug out from under everyone's feet and injected a bit of humor. It seemed to go well."

Twist had helped to raise the former One Directioner since Styles was seven years old, after the singer's parents split up. Twist also had two children from a previous relationship, Mike and Amy.

In early June 2017, Cox and Twist celebrated their four-year anniversary, and the former took to Instagram to celebrate the occasion.
