Aaron Carter Bashes Brother Nick, Claims He Was 'Targeted' In Recent DUI Arrest

Sounds like the 29-year-old is having a rough time.

After his arrest for an alleged DUI and marijuana possession on July 15, 2017, Aaron Carter is speaking out—and he's not happy. According to a statement posted on his Twitter page, Aaron believes that "his 'celebrity' was targeted." He claims that he brought his car into an Auto Zone in Cornelia, Ga. to have his its alignment corrected, and once he went inside, cops arrested him "with aggression." Aaron also alleges that police refused his right to an attorney.

Additionally, Aaron, who says he was not in a moving vehicle when he was arrested, notes that he has a medical license for marijuana, which is reportedly used to treat his "long standing anxiety."

He and his girlfriend Madison Parker, who was also arrested, apologized for any inconvenience the incident may have had for his fans, as tour dates were canceled to deal with the issue. Aaron noted that all "lost dates" will be rescheduled at a later time.

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Aaron was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence, possessing less than an ounce of marijuana, and possessing drug-related objects. His bail was set at $4,610. According to E! News, Aaron was released in the afternoon of Sunday, July 16.

After his arrest, Aaron's brother and Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter tweeted out about the incident. "To my brother," he wrote. "I love u no matter what & if u feel the need to reach for help, I am here and willing to help you get better."

The 37-year-old added, "Family isn't always easy, be we're all here for you."

But Aaron clearly wasn't feeling the love. In his statement, he addressed his brother's comments, saying, "If my own blood truly cared about my well-being, why wouldn't he call me directly and have a conversation instead of making this about him through a very public forum? That's not cool at all to use me for his PR and kick me while I am down. I love my family despite it through thick and thin."

Nick later appeared to respond to Aaron's statement by retweeting their sister, who wrote, "Hey @aaroncarter have @itsmadisonp text me your new number since you changed it again!"

Guess it's pretty hard to contact someone who never shared their number. Then again, they could've just asked Aaron's girlfriend for his new digits.

On July 17, Aaron tweeted a selfie, writing, "Walk away from gossip and verbal defamation. Speak only the good you know of other people and encourage others to do the same."

He continued, "Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself."

Based on his tweets, we'd wager that Aaron's legal team is getting ready for a pretty big fight.

Wonder where Aaron's been in recent years? Here's why you haven't heard from the "I Want Candy" singer lately.
