Celeb Couples Who Are Out Of Touch With Reality

These famous couples, both current and former, have a strained relationship with reality. Their lavish gifts, extreme narcissism, palatial pads, and willingness to share too much information have us wondering what they're thinking. From Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg to Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, let's take a closer look at these out-of-touch twosomes.

Will and Jada Pinkett Smith

Will and Jada Pinkett Smith are what some consider "couple goals" in Hollywood. In December 2017, the A-listers will celebrate their 20th anniversary, but that milestone hasn't been easy to hit. For years, the stars have endured rumors that they're in an open marriage. Jada took to Howard Stern's Sirius XM show in 2015 to clear the air—though she may have only added to the confusion.

"You've got to trust who you're with," she said. "And at the end of the day, I'm not here to be anybody's watcher...He's a grown man." The Gotham star continued, "Here's what I trust—I trust that the man that Will is, is the man of integrity. So, he's got all the freedom in the world. As long as Will can look himself in the mirror and be okay, I'm good."

Does that mean Will can cheat so long as he's cool with his reflection? We're not so sure, but we are pretty sure Jada knew she was being vague.

As parents, Will and Jada have also been criticized for their unorthodox child-rearing choices. "We don't do punishment. The way that we deal with our kids is, they are responsible for their lives," Will told Metro (via E! News). "Give them as much control over their lives as possible and the concept of punishment, our experience has been—it has a little too much of a negative quality."

Does this have something to do with the mirror again?

Coco and Ice T

This kinky couple enjoys talking about their active sex lives, or as Ice T prefers to call it, their "jungle sex" lives.

"You can be with your wife and just roll over on it. That's just sex-sex," he told the Daily Mail. "Jungle sex is when you know what it is that gets you turned on and you build up to it." The oversharing went on and on and included this visual: "Your girl might want you to put on some mother f**king oil and figure skates for her...Just put it on..." (Most of this interview we don't feel comfortable repeating.)

Coco and Ice T have been married since 2002 and welcomed daughter Chanel in 2015. While we applaud them for keeping the spark alive, their child may not want such an in-depth, highly-publicized lesson on the birds and the bees.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck

Only in Hoyllweird can a couple be married for more than a decade, file for divorce, then go on a tropical vacation together.

According to Us Weekly, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, who tied the knot in June 2005, finally pulled the trigger on their lengthy separation in April 2017. Garner reportedly filed the official divorce petition. Then, just two months later, she and Affleck and their three kids vacationed in the Bahamas as if nothing had happened. Call it admirable or awful, but it's definitely unusual.

Adding to the oddity, Garner allegedly funded the vacation by negotiating a two-hour speaking engagement on the island. According to Us Weekly, she demanded a private jet, two adjoining two-bedroom suites, and other amenities for a five-night stay. We repeat: this was in exchange for two hours of her time with some software execs.

Another sign that Affleck and Garner may have an altered perception of reality: Even after splitting up in 2015, they continued to live together (and that's not because no one could afford the security deposit on a new place.) According to People, Affleck stayed in the guest house while they figured things out.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are made for each other because no one loves Kimye more than Kimye. From day one, this opulent pair has lived a fairytale life with buckets of money. Per People, West famously proposed to his lady love at the AT&T baseball stadium in San Francisco. It wasn't your typical engagement, either. He rented out the facility, hired a full orchestra, and flew her family and friends to the venue for the surprise.

As for the wedding, guests traipsed from Paris to Italy for the festivities, and the bride and groom reportedly paid a stunning $136,000 for flowers alone.

Even when they're apart, West appears to stop at nothing to make Kardashian feel special. For Mother's Day 2015, he had thousands of roses delivered to her hotel suite and hired a violinist to perform for her.

Kardashian enjoys giving lavish gifts too. She rented the massive Los Angeles Staples Center so West and his buddies could play a few games of basketball for his birthday.

We. Can't. Even. But they can.

Jay Z and Beyoncé

When it comes to real estate, Jay Z and Beyoncé have pockets as deep as the ocean. According to TMZ, they set a budget of $80 million when house hunting for a new home for their growing family.

The tab reported in June 2017 that Jay and Bey were in the process of buying a stunning 30,000 square-feet home on 1.86 acres in Bel Air. The humble abode includes eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, 4 pools, and a basketball court. This property is so exclusive, it reportedly wasn't even listed— just shopped privately to potential clients...who we're assuming all live in an alternate dimension. Sources told TMZ the Carters didn't even stick to their budget and will pay around $120 million for the home.

Even Jay Z and Beyonce's temporary casa is over the top. According to Today, while shopping around, they stayed in a 10-bedroom Malibu estate that rents for a whopping $400,000 a month, which is "more than what many Americans pay to own a home."

Tyga and Kylie Jenner

One of the most perplexing parts about Kylie Jenner and Tyga's on-again-off-again union is the constant financial drama. The out-of-touch-rapper clearly needs to get in touch with a good accountant because headlines about his chronic spending—and battles with creditors and angry landlords—are killing his reputation.

Case in point: the year 2016. For Jenner's 19th birthday, Tyga bought the reality TV star a $200,000 Maybach Mercedes, reported the Daily Mailwhile simultaneously falling behind on his own car payments. According to Page Six, the "Rack City" rapper also owed landlords overdue rent, and he was sued by a jeweler for failing to pay off a bill to the tune of $200,000.

At the time of this writing, Jenner and Tyga were no longer together. Let's hope he budgets realistically on the rebound.

Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin were married for 10 years before announcing their "conscious uncoupling" in 2016. Their fancy synonym for break-up became big news and the butt of many jokes, with some suggesting the pair was out of touch with the rest of society. "Consider yourself in good company if you think this sounds like one of those hippy-dippy expressions new-agers say in the heat of the Los Angeles sun," wrote a columnist for the Daily Beast.

Speaking of new-age, Paltrow is the founder of goop, a lifestyle website that often attracts attention for its odd products and sky-high prices. In January 2017, goop sold a rose quartz egg designed to be inserted into a woman's vagina to balance her cycle and improve her sex life, reported The Huffington Post. Medical professionals railed against the product and warned of potential dangers. "I cannot think of a single reason why inserting a large, heavy stone object into the vagina would improve one's sex life," Dr. Maria Isabel Rodriguez told The Huffington Post, adding that doing so "carries potential harms, including vaginal infection and trauma."

In other words, be wary if these out-of-touch celebs wants you to touch your...oh, never mind.

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag

Just a few years after marrying, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag blew through their entire fortune. The couple known as "Speidi," who rose to fame on The Hills, apparently lost touch with the reality of reality television.

"We were keeping up with the Joneses, but we were going against Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes," Pratt told People in July 2016. Montag agreed: "I felt like I was someone I wasn't. We had business managers who told us to stop spending but we acted like we knew what we were doing." The couple reportedly dropped $1 million on wardrobe, staff, bodyguards, and bottles of wine. To top it off, Pratt confessed to blowing another million on his crystal collection.

At the same time, Montag was also creating an alternative version of her physical body, undergoing nearly one dozen cosmetic surgeries, including breast implants, having her ears pinned back, a nose job, and fat injections into her face, according to Entertainment Tonight

Speidi eventually came back down to earth and made significant lifestyle adjustments. "We haven't been out to a fancy dinner since our anniversary," Pratt told People. "If Heidi's not cooking, we're eating tacos."

Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston

Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleton's short-lived courtship broke the speed of sound and left their fans wondering, "What were they thinking?"

Within weeks of meeting in the summer of 2016, the pair became inseparable. According to People, in a span of only three months, they met each other's parents, canoodled in England, Australia, and Italy, lit up social media with amorous moments during Swift's 4th of July party, and then flamed out. It created a media spectacle.

Hiddleston told GQ the "limelight" contributed to their demise, but we can't help but think the pace played a part. True love is a marathon; not a sprint.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon

Is there ever a down-to-Earth moment in Mariah Carey's life? Her entire persona is rooted in lavish clothes, cars, and jewelry. Being over the top is her reality, and she's proud of it.

Ex-husband Nick Cannon, to whom she was married for six years, shared one of her diva moments with talk show host Wendy Williams. When their twins were born, "she made me play her music as they was [sic] coming out," he said.

The pair also had a penchant for lavish and narcissistic gifts. According to E! News, Cannon gave Mariah a Rolls Royce Phantom for Christmas that cost about $400,000, but what drew the most attention was that Cannon had images of Carey painted on the sides of the car. He also included a vanity plate that read, "MommyMC."

And when it comes to their kids, Cannon and Carey spare no expense. For Monroe and Morocco's sixth birthday, the exes took them to Disney World, dropping five figures on the celebration, reported TMZ

Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy

Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg have no sensor. The couple, who wed in August 2014, has left little to the imagination when it comes to sex, proving that even in the world of celebrity gossip, it is possible to overestimate how much people actually want to know.

"Without a doubt, it gets better every single time I make love to him," she told Watch What Happens Live just weeks after tying the knot. She then proceeded to describe his, um, male anatomy as "the most beautiful" she had "ever seen." And then, she described all the other, um, variations of male anatomy she had seen over the years and why they didn't measure up. "I can't get too descriptive," she said. "It hits the spot." Too descriptive? Too late.
