Aaron Carter Talks Estranged Relationship With Backstreet Boy Brother Nick

Why can't the Carter boys just get along?

On Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, Aaron Carter paid a visit to the Elvis Duran and the Morning Show and opened up about his relationship with his brother Nick.

"You don't even know me, Nick. You don't even talk to me," Aaron said. "We see each other once or twice a year. I'm keeping it real with you."

Aaron went on to admit, "I love my brother. I always will love my brother." However, Aaron doesn't think his Backstreet Boy brother feels quite the same way.

"I think he loves me conditionally," he told host Elvis Duran.

But Aaron, who recently came out as bisexual, doesn't appear to be letting Nick's negativity get to him. He went on to declare that he has a lot of other positive distractions in his life. "I have my path and my journey to focus on, and my music, and my music is real," he explained. "It's all a part of my identity."

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Aaron was arrested for an alleged DUI in Georgia in July 2017. Aaron later denied any wrongdoing, claiming that he was "targeted" by police.

After Aaron made headlines, Nick took to Twitter to speak out about the arrest, stating, "To my brother: I love u no matter what & if u feel the need to reach for help, I am here and willing to help you get better."

He added, "Family isn't always easy, be we're all here for you."

Aaron, however, was not feeling Nick's comments. He later released a statement, saying, "If my own blood truly cared about my well-being, why wouldn't he call me directly and have a conversation instead of making this about him through a very public forum? That's not cool at all to use me for his PR and kick me while I am down."
