Pink To Sing National Anthem At 2018 Super Bowl

The "Beautiful Trauma" singer is slated to perform at football's biggest game of the year.

According to Us Weekly, Pink (real name Alecia Moore) will sing the national anthem at the 2018 Super Bowl. The news was first announced by the NFL network's Good Morning Football.

"International superstar Pink will sing the national anthem as part of the Super Bowl LII pregame festivities, which will be televised live on NBC prior to kickoff," GMFB host Kay Adams revealed on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018. "Pink's anthem performance in Minneapolis will be the first-time Super Bowl stage appearance for the three-time Grammy Award winner."

At the time of this writing, Pink, who received the Video Vanguard Award at the 2017 VMAs, has yet to address the announcement, but she did previously tease that big news was on the way. "I'm really looking forward to 2018," Pink tweeted out on Jan. 6. "I'm really excited about the Grammy's. Tour. Some other stuff that's a secret still and I can't wait til it's not a secret."

Us Weekly notes that Alexandria Wailes, actor and director of the National Association of the Deaf, will join Pink onstage at the Super Bowl to sign the national anthem as well as "America the Beautiful."

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Justin Timberlake will perform during the Super Bowl's halftime show. It will mark the first time he's performed at the annual event since he sang alongside Janet Jackson at the 2004 Super Bowl, during which he made headlines for removing part of Jackson's costume as he sang, "Gonna have you naked by the end of this song."

Super Bowl LII will air live from the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Feb. 4, 2017.
