Stars With Awful Personal Hygiene

If you're a rich and famous star, chances are you have no problem affording things like soap, shampoo, and deodorant, right? With the money a Hollywood paycheck racks in, cleanliness seems a small cost to pay to keep up red carpet appearances. Some A-listers aren't so convinced, however, and it may surprise the public to know that many of them are surprisingly some of the biggest and most popular stars of movies and TV.

Would you believe one of the stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe supposedly has bad body odor? What about two beautiful cast members of one of the most successful sitcoms of all time? Well, one of them supposedly has the tendency to smell "like a trucker," which the other allegedly used to do some particularly private "ladyscaping" right on the couch she shared with a roommate. Heinous, right? This list goes on and on, and it actually gets worse from there. In fact, some stars are straight up gross. Let's take a look at Tinseltown's A-list, and how some celebs get a get a big fat F when it comes to personal hygiene. These are the stars with the worst personal hygiene.

Gwyneth Paltrow is 'pretty pungent'

Remember how actor Gwyneth Paltrow swore off ever going to the Met Gala again in 2013? The Oscar winner complained that the scene was too hot and sweaty for her, but it turns out it was probably an even worse experience for anyone who stood next to her. "Poor Gwyneth looked picture-perfect, but it must have been the hot lights that caused her to be a little strong on the nose," an insider told the National Enquirer. "It was pretty pungent, and I don't think she had a clue. I saw at least two people wave their hands in front of their noses after passing her."

A friend of the actor made an excuse for her, telling the tab, "Gwyneth has heard that aluminum is supposedly carcinogenic, and that putting an aluminum-based deodorant directly on those sensitive armpit glands can increase the chances of breast cancer. She's trying out new deodorants; she's bound to fail with some of them ... but Gwyneth tells pals she'd rather be smelly than dead." For the record, the American Cancer Society disagrees with Paltrow.

Matthew McConaughey is keeping it really real

Actor Matthew McConaughey told People (via the New York Daily News) that he hasn't worn deodorant in 20 years. "I don't like to smell like someone or something else," he said, adding, "If my smell starts to bother someone else, I'll take a shower."

One person it bothered? His "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" co-star, Kate Hudson. McConaughey told Playboy (via the Boston Herald), "She always brings a salt rock, which is some natural deodorant, and says, 'Will you please put this on?'"

Not all of McConaughey's co-stars have found his smell to be off-putting, however. Actor Yvette Nicole Brown Smith starred alongside the "Failure to Launch" star in the 2008 comedy "Tropic Thunder," and admitted she had doubts about his hygiene after he admitted to not using antiperspirant in two decades. She was pleasantly surprised about his scent, however, revealing on the SiriusXM "Jess Cagle Show" that "He smells like granola and good living, that's all I can say." She went on to add that "He has a sweet, sweet scent that is just him and it's not musty or crazy."

Julia Roberts is a 'total hippie'

America's sweetheart supposedly stinks. Actor Julia Roberts told Oprah in 2008, "I don't actually use deodorant...it's just never been my thing." It's a surprising statement coming from the stunning starlet who captured the heart of Richard Gere in "Pretty Woman," but at least Matthew McConaughey has a friend in the hygiene (or lack thereof) department.

That's not all the "Ticket to Paradise" star avoids, either. The starlet isn't the biggest fan of soap as well. A former security guard for the pretty lady told Star (via Life&Style), "Julia is a total hippie. She'll go days without showering. She likes to save water — she's really green. And she likes the smell of her natural oils." The guard added, "She also says that she can't wash her hair too often because it's so dry. She may have a point there, but she often gets musty." Regardless, whatever hygiene habits Roberts chooses to follow haven't stopped her from appearing dazzling on and off the big screen.

Don't sit upwind of Russell Crowe

Actor Russell Crowe's body odor is reportedly as foul as his temper. Joan Rivers once said, "He has a body odor problem. I prefer to sit downwind of him at showbiz bashes." (Technically, Rivers probably would have been better off sitting upwind, right?) Insiders told the National Enquirer that after repeated pleas for better hygiene on the set of "Cinderella Man," co-star Renee Zellweger insisted on a body double for anything intimate.

One of Crowe's buddies justified the actor's odor. "Russell is just an ordinary bloke and he certainly doesn't have a hygiene problem," the pal said. "If you stand really close to him you may catch the occasional whiff of alcohol and curry after a night on the town. But you show me a normal, down-to-earth bloke who isn't like that the morning after he's had a few beers and some good grub."

Shia LaBeouf may need a loofa

Actor Shia LaBeouf was so dedicated to his character in Fury that he went to particularly gross lengths to relate to the WWII soldier. A source told the Daily Mail, "He pulled out his own tooth during the first few weeks of filming and then refused to shower for weeks on end so he could better understand how his character would have felt living in the trenches."

Of course, some of that may have been typical LaBeouf in need of a loofah. Dance Moms star Maddie Ziegler, who co-starred with the actor in Sia's "Elastic Heart" music video in 2015, told Entertainment Tonight she gave him some wipes, telling him, "I'm sorry, but you're kind of dirty." Ziegler's interesting on-set experience with the "Transformers" star had her up close and personal, but not exactly in the best way. "I really did bite Shia, and it was gross because we were dirty and I had to bite his dirty hands," she revealed, adding that she had to wipe herself off continuously after working with LaBeouf.

Cameron Diaz says antiperspirant is the problem

Hollywood is full of A-listers against antiperspirants, apparently, and who better to lead the pack but Cameron Diaz? The actor, who's often seen sporting pit stains on the red carpet, told E! News, "I don't believe in antiperspirant. It's really bad for you. I haven't used it for almost 20 years. You're stinky, because you use antiperspirant. It keeps all the stink in." She advised, "Let it go and just trim your armpit hair so it doesn't hold onto the scent."

Deodorant isn't the only thing Diaz has a strong opinion on, either. The "Charlie's Angels" star detailed her preference for pubic hair in her book "The Body Book" (per Cosmopolitan), admitting that she's strongly against lasering off hair ... down there. "Pubes keep the goods private, which can entice a lover to come and take a closer look at what you have to offer," she wrote.

After receiving some blowback over her comments, she clarified further, admitting on the Graham Norton Show, "I don't care what women do with it, but we should be informed about how their bodies work," adding, "It [pubic hair] is there for a reason and to laser it off is to lose it forever!"

Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis had a lot in common

For someone who plays a pirate sailing the seven seas, it's not hard to believe that actor Johnny Depp may not keep up with a regular hygiene routine. After all, who is worried about showering regularly when there's pirate gold to be plundered, right? Depp has a lot more in common with his on-screen character Jack Sparrow than fans may have originally imagined, given that reports suggest he isn't the biggest fan of being spick-and-span.

Depp isn't alone, however, as his ex, singer Vanessa Paradis allegedly doesn't see the big deal about bathing either. "Johnny usually smells because he rarely showers," a source told Fox News (via Celebitchy). "He isn't big on personal cleanliness and Vanessa isn't much different. They found their perfect match in each other — it's hard to be around them. Their personal hygiene is not their priority."

Megan Fox forgets to flush

Megan Fox may be known for her stunning beauty and for being one of Hollywood's most iconic sex symbols, but her hygiene habits may surprise you. Apparently, one of the world's most beautiful women has surprisingly low standards when it comes to her cleanliness.

The actor told FHM (via Hollywood.com) that her poor memory makes for some awkward (and awful-smelling) situations. "I forget to flush the toilet," she confessed. "Friends will tell me, 'Megan, you totally pinched a loaf in my toilet and didn't flush.'"

The "Jennifer's Body" star also revealed that she's not exactly an ideal roommate either. "I'm horrible to live with," she confessed (per Koi Moi). "I don't clean. My clothes end up wherever I take them off." Machine Gun Kelly doesn't seem to mind, however. After all, it's what's in the heart — and not in the hygiene habits — that truly counts, right?

Robert Pattinson: 'I don't care'

Actor Robert Pattinson may look a little cleaner nowadays, but at his Twilight Saga peak, he reportedly reeked. When Extra asked the actor about rumors that he hadn't shampooed for six weeks, he replied, "Probably. I don't know. I don't really see the point in washing your hair ... If you don't care if your hair's clean or not then why would you wash it?" He added that his hair isn't the only part of him that's grody. "It's like, I don't clean my apartment 'cause I don't care. I have my apartment for sleeping in and I have my hair for just, you know, hanging out on my head. I don't care if it's clean or not."

Some people can pull off a filthy scalp and get away with it, but sources close to the actor told MTV News that he's not one of them. "He stinks," an anonymous crew member on the Twilight films said. "I mean, it's awful. He never showers, and it drives people on the set crazy."

Kristen Stewart licks her armpits

Kristen Stewart allegedly loves bathing as much as her ex, Robert Pattinson ... that is to say, she supposedly avoids it to the best of her ability, even to the point of turning him off.  A source told the National Enquirer, "Rob's a laid-back guy, but he finds Kristen's grungy habits a turn-off. She doesn't wash her hair often, only brushes her teeth once a day and rarely wears perfume. He loved it when she made an effort for the "Twilight" promotion. But now she's back to her old lazy self and he's not impressed."

Curiously, the "Café Society" star sang a different tune to has Stylist magazine, revealing that Pattinson "loves to lick under my armpits." She added, "I don't get this obsession with washing the smell off." The actor also admitted that she occasionally gets a bit too stinky. "When I'm nervous, I'm so mindless. I twiddle my thumbs and my hands sweat and I smell bad," she told the mag.

Zac Efron proves looks may be deceiving

Zac Efron may be one of the hottest hunks in Hollywood, with his washboard abs and his sultry looks, but even the most dazzling looks can be deceiving. Reports suggest that the "17 Again" star avoids showering when he can. "Zac isn't a big fan of showering," a source told Star magazine (via Stuff). "It's so gross, because Zac loves to work out and plays basketball all the time — and then goes days without showering. When he gets lazy, he likes to clean himself with baby wipes!"

Efron's lack of showering habits may be a result of a traumatic childhood memory, however. In an interview with Refinery29, the star recalled the time when he first discovered cologne while shopping alongside his mother. After grabbing as many samples as he could, he "put on way too many of them one day and went to school." The actor revealed he was sent home early and forced to wash them off due to the stench.

Kendra Wilkinson and eau de urine?

Former "Girls Next Door" star and Playboy Playmate Kendra Wilkinson is beautiful, but supposedly smells hideous. A source told Star (via Kiss FM), "Kendra loves to look sexy, but she couldn't care less how she smells. I don't know if she has pets but she smells like urine most of the time. She almost never takes a shower, and doesn't use perfume, either."

The token tomboy is not afraid to dish out the details of her bathroom habits either. In 2016, the model took to X, formerly known as Twitter (per Daily Mail), to air out her dirty laundry, tweeting, "Omg I gotta take a s**t so bad n no bathrooms around me rt now [sic]." She took it a step further when she added, "It's so bad. That feeling where it comes n goes but when it comes feels like a contraction [sic]." Wilkinson eventually made it to a bathroom, letting fans know, "The weird thing is nothing came out." No one asked, Kendra.

The one where Jennifer Aniston stuffs chicken in her bra

Jennifer Anniston's old roommates are dishing about the star's hygiene habits, and fans may be surprised to know what the "Friends" star considered the norm. Nancy Balbirer lived with Jennifer Aniston when they first started acting in New York City, and she told the New York Daily News that Aniston was a bit of an awkward roommate. This is news to many fans who watched her play quite the opposite character for so many years on the popular sitcom.

Balbirer claimed that the "Friends" star would give herself bikini waxes on their shared couch (ouch!) and stuff her bra with chicken cutlets from the supermarket — actual chicken cutlets; not lingerie inserts. Aniston's rep vehemently denied those claims, but we can't help but wonder if those cutlets gave her a leg (or a wing) up on her relatively unknown roomie. After all, the name Balbirer doesn't exactly ring a bell on the list of Hollywood starlets.

Brad Pitt, Eli Roth, and baby wipes

Brad Pitt may be one of Hollywood's token golden boys, but that doesn't mean he always has time to shower. The actor's "Inglourious Basterds" co-star Eli Roth told People the hunk's busy schedule doesn't exactly leave him with a lot of time to freshen up, which has him resorting to fast-hacks.

"He shared that when you're sweating and don't have time to take a shower, you just take a baby wipe and rub it under your armpits," Roth revealed. "After a scene, Brad had to get next to me for a close-up shot, and he said, 'Damn, you're ripe.' I said, 'I didn't have time to shower.' He said, 'Baby wipes, man, baby wipes. I got six kids. All you've got to do is just take them, a couple quick wipes under the pits. Man, I'm getting [peed] on all day. I don't have time to take a shower.'" We can't help but wonder, is this a new take on "method acting?"

Britney Spears' bodyguard says he's scarred for life

Britney Spears may have once been the princess of pop, but a source claims she's not exactly as glamorous behind the scenes. Whether she was distracted with her highly contested conservatorship or simply worse for wear, the "Toxic" singer's former bodyguard, Fernando Flores, claimed that the "Baby One More Time" singer had some less than appealing hygiene habits.

"Spears had obnoxious personal habits, such as chain-smoking cigarettes, which made her smell continually of stale tobacco," he claimed in lawsuit documents from 2011 obtained by the Mirror. "She broke wind or picked her nose unselfconsciously and unapologetically ... She did not bathe for days on end, did not use deodorant, did not brush her teeth, did not fix her hair, did not wear shoes or socks." Spears' camp denied the claims, but we have seen her strolling barefoot in a gas station bathroom.

Miley Cyrus and that infamous tongue

Actor-singer Miley Cyrus has historically made a lot of questionable decisions, so her controversial hygiene may be the least outrageous part of her "strategic hot mess" persona. In March 2016, Cyrus reportedly wore someone else's retainer, as per Mashable, essentially opening herself up to a cesspool of someone else's germs (including staphylococcus and candida — the stuff that triggers yeast infections). Medical experts also speculated that her coated tongue may be another sign she's not taking care of her oral hygiene.

Then, of course, there's the whole "Wrecking Ball" video. If you're not up to date on Cyrus trivia, you may not remember the "We Can't Stop Star" swinging from a wrecking ball in nothing but lingerie back in 2014. While art is art, it didn't exactly scream good hygiene practices when the star was seen licking the steel ball while she swung back and forth.

Bradley Cooper ditches deordorant

Bradley Cooper may be in good company, along with stars like Cameron Diaz, Matthew McConaughey, and Julia Roberts who have sworn off antiperspirants. By the looks of it, it seems like the entire Hollywood bunch may opt for their natural odors over store-bought deodorant any day now. The "Star is Born" actor confessed that he might stink, but he's taking steps to compensate for it ... just not the most obvious step to fix the problem.

"I don't use deodorant really anymore," the "War Dogs" star admitted to Esquire. "I do take a lot of showers, so maybe that helps. In the morning and then at night. And after I work out, I'll take a shower. So maybe three a day." Hey, at least he's doing something, right? He can always take a page out of Brad Pitt's book and try using baby wipes to compensate for his odor... or simply embrace his "granola" stench like McConaughey.

Shailene Woodley is allegedly a big fan of oils

Shailene Woodley seems to have her heart in the right place, but she may want to get her nose checked out if her own stories about her hygiene are true. The "Fault in Our Stars" actor told Parade, "I basically have horse hair. It's so low-maintenance ... I only shampoo it like once a month — the oilier, the better."

It doesn't end there. A source told Star (via Celebitchy), "Shailene rubs these essential oils all over her body, and they aren't very welcoming scents." The insider claimed that her stench has gotten so strong, that her stylist has had a difficult time asking designers to lend garments for fear of them returning in a smelly state. "There is absolutely no way to get that stench out of those expensive fabrics. Designers don't want their pieces back after Shailene is done with them!"

Orlando Bloom can probably afford a change of clothes

Orlando Bloom's alleged grossness is what may have led to his divorce from model Miranda Kerr, at least according to Star (via Metro). A source claimed Kerr "asked him if he could wash his clothes and perhaps shower more often." Yikes, doesn't he know a Victoria's Secret model when he sees one? The insider claimed the Pirates of the Caribbean hero will "wear the same jeans for a week before he throws them in the washer. Same goes for his sweaters, T-shirts and socks."

Bloom's unkempt hygiene is allegedly aided by his pets as well. The source revealed that the actor allows his dog to sleep in the bed with him, resulting in a slobber-fest that adds to his bad odor. He's in good company, however, as he can always hang out with his former co-star Johnny Depp when he wants to shamelessly avoid grooming.

Kourtney Kardashian's ex says she 'reeks'

Reality star Kourtney Kardashian is beautiful, but according to baby daddy Scott Disick, she has a tendency to smell really ugly. In 2013, while breastfeeding daughter Penelope, she allegedly decided to forgo deodorant completely, leading Disick to complain about her stench. "She reeks. Only because she doesn't believe in wearing deodorant because she thinks it's bad for her breastfeeding or something," The Lord said on an episode of "Kourtney & Kim Take Miami" (via Daily Mail).

The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star is known for being passionate about natural products, so much so that her Poosh blog is constantly toting her favs. She took matters into her own hands while filming "KKTM" (per E! News) when she attempted to make her own deodorant out of baking soda and cornstarch. While the effectiveness of homemade deodorant has mixed reviews, Disick is definitely not a supporter. "It's uncomfortable," Disick complained. "You don't want to tell somebody you love that they stink."

If you're wondering who farted, it's probably Harry Styles

Musician Harry Styles may be handsome, but rumor has it, he doesn't smell as good as he looks. Everyone farts (even A-listers), but Styles' flatulence has his bandmates crying out for help.

Louis Tomlinson previously said (via Sugarscape), "I dislike it when Harry farts and then pretends it's not him for literally 10 minutes." It's not just the singer's farts that's offensive, the singer reportedly doesn't maintain proper hygiene habits, either. The Daily Star reported that his ex, songstress Taylor Swift, reportedly complained that Styles "had the worst breath, like coffee, cigarettes, and booze."

His former bandmate Zayn Malik also spoke up about Styles, telling Top of the Pops (via Inquisitr), "I don't think there's enough money on this earth that would make me sniff Harry's socks!" Given his sultry good looks and his even sexier vocals, that's gotta be hard for fans of the "Watermelon Sugar" star to accept.

Was Courteney Cox the real-life inspiration for Smelly Cat?

While it clearly didn't contribute to their divorce, but David Arquette once revealed a startling tidbit about his now-ex-wife Courteney Cox's grooming habits — or lack thereof. He said in an interview (via The Sun), "Courteney may be pretty, but if she's not on top of it, she smells like a truck driver and I like it." Considering Cox played neat freak Monica Gellar on "Friends," and apparently has a pretty sweet-looking master bathroom, her odious odor is even more curious.

To be fair, Cox has gotten even lower maintenance with age. She told New Beauty magazine in June 2017 that after going overboard, she got all of her cosmetic facial fillers dissolved, explaining, "I'm as natural as I can be. I feel better because I look like myself. I think that I now look more like the person that I was. I hope I do." Asked how she treats her body, Cox said she was getting into "dry brushing." Is that good for trucker smell?

Post Malone skips deodorant, has 'a musk'

A story about Post Malone's manager quitting because the "Circles" singer smelled so bad went viral, but the entire thing was a hoax. Whether or not Posty actually stinks, enough people believed the rumor that they stared nominated him to be on the reboot of "Queer Eye" in summer 2018 (via Buzzfeed). Amazingly, Malone nearly got the reality TV scrubbing he perhaps doesn't even need, when Queer Eye star Karamo Brown pondered in a since-deleted tweet, "Lol why does everyone want @PostMalone to be on the show. Did he request it?" Malone's characteristically self-depricating reply? "No they just think I'm ugly and smell lol. love the show tho guys, keep crushing it."

A few months earlier, Malone tackled the same topic in a video for GQ, when he answered fans' most asked questions on social media. When one asked "What does Post Malone smell like?" he replied, "I smell good. I smell like a normal person. A lot of ladies say that they love my musk. I won't wear any deodorant or anything, but I have a musk, and it's just kind of, like, naturally enticing to females." To really drive the point home, he added, "But I don't smell bad. That's a common misconception."

Kesha drank her own pee

Kesha cleans up beautifully, but she doesn't always bother to do so. Much of her self-deprecation about her smell is likely in jest, however. She told BBC Radio 1 (via The New Zealand Herald) in 2013 that people around her tell her, "'You smell weird, what's that smell?' I smell like a hobo. One time, someone told me I smelt like a shrimp on a diaper. I thought I could make a fragrance that was little like a shrimp on a Faberge diaper but I don't know if people want to smell like that."

In her MTV documentary series, Kesha: My Crazy Beautiful Life, the "Praying" singer drinks her own urine. Seriously. She explained of the gross moment, "I was told drinking my own pee was good, I was trying to be healthy. Somebody tried to take my pee away from me and I said, 'That is mine!' So I snatched it up and took a chug and it was really gross so I don't do it anymore." Here's hoping she brushed her teeth with more than a bottle of Jack after that.

Gossip abounds about 'slovenly' Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford

"Gossip Girl" stars Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick played glamorous teenagers living over-the-top lives on-screen for years. Everything from their wardrobe to their grooming habits was immaculate in their fictional Upper West Side lives, but the actors were allegedly living a far different story when the cameras stopped rolling.

Sources told the New York Daily News that Gossip Girl stars Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick were anything but tidy when they shared an apartment while filming the show. "It stinks," a disgusted insider claimed. "Those boys are slovenly and have garbage and clothes everywhere. You'd think they were living in a frat house!"

Sources told Us Weekly that Westwick was to blame for the unkempt living situation, leading Crawford to move out of their space. "Chace couldn't stand to live with Ed anymore because he's filthy so he's now renting a place on his own," the insider alleged (per Lainey Gossip).

Jennifer Lawrence's breath speaks louder than words

While some stars' bad breath may be due to a lack of upkeep or poor hygiene habits, it's unusual that a star would ever try to purposefully cultivate a stank breath. Don't put it past Jennifer Lawrence, however, as the actor admitted that she has gone to significant lengths to make her breath smell bad.

During an episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," Lawrence's "Hunger Games" co-star Liam Hemsworth spilled the beans on what it was like to kiss the blonde bombshell. Contrary to popular belief, it wasn't all that many fans assumed it might be like. "Anytime I had to kiss Jennifer was pretty uncomfortable," Hemsworth admitted, clarifying that while he considers her one of his best friends, kissing her was a different story. "If we had a kissing scene, she would make a point of eating garlic or tuna fish or something that was disgusting," he explained.

The "Last Song" actor revealed that Lawrence would often let him know what exactly she had eaten and that she hadn't bothered to brush her teeth before the scene. "Fantastic," Hemsworth said sarcastically, "I can't wait to get in there and taste it!" Since there's no word from Lawrence's camp on tuna gate, fans might have to take Hemsworth's word for it.

Maria Bakalova made herself smell horrible to get into character

When it comes to getting into the spirit of their character, some actors go to great lengths to assume their roles — even if it means sacrificing their hygiene. Such was the case for Maria Bakalova, who went above and beyond while filming "Borat 2," and not in the way some fans may think.

In an interview with Collider, Bakalava admitted that she had to arrive unkempt for screen tests while working alongside her co-star Sascha Barron Cohen. "I remember that some of [the production team] advised me, 'Don't be clean, don't prepare yourself to look pretty or to be glam or something. Try to not take [a] shower,'" the actor admitted. Bakalova heeded their advice, even though it meant she had to show up on the set of another film she had been working on in the same state.

She took matters into her own hands to create a foul home-made concoction. "So I made something super smelly, stinky with banana peels, old eggs, vinegar, old olive oil, onions. And I mixed it and it was probably the worst smell that you can ever imagine," she shared. "And I put it all over me, and I started hugging and touching people for [goodbyes], and they were like, 'Okay, this is not an actor, for sure.'" Thankfully, Bakalova's hard work and rancid odor paid off — as she ended up landing the part.

Snooki's secret skincare ingredient: cat litter

While some celebrities will go to great lengths for great skin, some fans may be surprised at the shocking ingredients stars utilize in their daily routines. "Jersey Shore" star Nicole Polizzi, better known to fans as Snooki, isn't afraid to fess up about her skin-care routine — even if it might leave a bad taste in many fans' mouths.

While guest-starring on "Conan" (per Today), the mother of three admitted her secret ingredient was stolen from cats. "Clean cat litter!" Snooki quipped when asked about her beauty tips. "Well, I definitely like to Google a lot, and I don't like to spend a lot of money on spa treatments — just because I'm a cheap-o," she revealed. "So I Googled what else I could use that was not so expensive. It was cat litter."

The reality television star admitted that while her method may be unconventional, she has yet to have a breakout. As per Litter Boxes, cat litter is made up of bentonite clay, which is a natural exfoliant. You know what they say, "Gym, Tan, Laundry ... Cat litter?"

Shailene Woodley likes to snack on clay

Shailene Woodley isn't only big on her essential oils, but the actor is also a fan of clay. We're not referring to making clay, or even putting it on your face as part of a skincare routine, but the consumption of it. That's right, the "Fault in Our Stars" actor eats clay in an attempt to clean her body from the inside out.

In her essay for "Into The Gloss," the star revealed that consuming the material can help rid the body of heavy metals. "I first heard about the benefits of eating clay from a taxi driver," Woodley explained. "He was African and was saying that, where he's from, the women eat clay when they're pregnant." The "Divergent" star shared that after eating Bentonite clay, the body emits a negative charge instead of absorbing the substance and that charge binds to negative isotopes. Woodley got her friend on the trend, which led to less-than-pleasant after-effects. "We did some research together and everything said that when you first start eating clay, your bowel movements, pee, and even you, yourself, will smell like metal."

Clay-eating isn't the only thing Woodley has discovered to help cleanse her body. The star revealed she practices "oil-pulling" as well, which involves swishing coconut or sesame oil around in one's mouth to promote dental hygiene. "It really makes your teeth whiter, because the plaque on your teeth is not water soluble, it's fat-soluble. So the lipids have to dissolve in fats, which is why oil works in your mouth," she explained.

Kelly Clarkson's aversion to underwear

When it comes to underwear — some stars feel that less is more. To each their own when it comes to intimate garments, from whitey-tidies to thongs and everything in between. But for Kelly Clarkson, "Less" means absolutely nothing. The "Since U Been Gone" is reportedly known for not using anything at all when it comes to her underwear, and she made headlines in 2008 when made a bold statement about her clothing choices.

At the time, she told Page Six, "Why'd anyone want a little thing up their butt when they can go free?" Call it strategy or simply her preference for undergarments, the singer revealed she went commando the entire time she competed on "American Idol." The "Because of You" singer may not be the biggest fan of deodorant, either, as MTV News reported that the star decided to forego it for a while back in 2012.

The strange places Chrissy Teigen and John Legend had sex may surprise you

Chrissy Teigen is spilling all the intimate details about her relationship with her husband John Legend, and some of them may surprise you. The outspoken Sports Illustrated model is not afraid to tell it like it is, even if it means admitting all the strange places she and the singer have done the deed.

In an interview for Cosmopolitan (per Fox News), Teigen revealed that in addition to "upper-thigh" rubbing in restaurants, the couple isn't afraid to get down and dirty on commercial airplanes. "We were on our way to Thailand to see my parents, flying commercial first-class," she explained. "We were under a blanket. We weren't even in one of those pod things. I feel like we should get a trophy for that."

The mother of four also confirmed that she and her hubby got it on during an event for former President Obama. When asked by Extra TV about the best public place the two had sex, she answered, "Probably the Obama thing," but confirmed that the act didn't take place at the White House. While shying away from giving any details, Legend clarified, "He was not elected yet."

Emily Ratajowski drove around in a moving 'garbage dump'

Emily Ratajowski may be driving around in a luxury BMW car, but that doesn't mean she's keeping the interior spick and span. The bombshell model and actor is a household name, known for her stunning good looks, talent, and now — filthy vehicles. That's right, the starlet has a penchant for dirtying up her ride, and she isn't afraid to admit it.

During an episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" the "Gone Girl" star was forced to own up to a photo posted on Reddit by one of her former production assistants. The picture gave an inside look at what it's like riding shotgun with the star, complete with piled-up trash cramming up the passenger's side. "When most people say their car is messy they mean like dog hair and one iced coffee. [But] I'm not cute-messy. I'm real messy," Ratajowski explained. "So one day I went on Reddit — which no one should do, to look up their own name — and I saw someone said something nice about me like, 'Emily Ratajkowski is great to work with,' and I clicked on it and he's like, 'Then I drove her car.'"

The "Welcome Home" star called her former vehicle a "garbage dump" admitting that when the time came to sell it, she had to clean up "everything from tampons to a marionette." Ratajowski also revealed that when the time came to haul a Christmas tree on top of the ride in 2016, she still had ties hanging from last year's haul. Yikes.

Marilyn Monroe: icon or epic slob?

Marilyn Monroe is an American icon, from her jaw-dropping looks and acting roles in the 1950s to her iconic rendition of "Happy Birthday" sung for John F. Kennedy. As far as celebrities go, it's hard to believe the blonde bombshell would be remembered for anything other than being immaculate. Think again, however, as sources say the late star was not exactly the tidiest when it came to personal hygiene.

In the book "Clark Gable: Tormented Star" (per Thought Catalog), David Bret wrote about some of Monroe's less savory habits, which included eating in bed and passing lots of gas. Bret described her as "flatulent, dirty, and ate in bed...Like Jean Harlow, she bleached all her pubic hair and never wore panties." Don't let her glamorous looks and effortless aura fool you, as Bret claims she wasn't exactly the striking sex symbol that many high-fashion magazines portrayed her to be while in the privacy of her own home. "She rarely bathed, slept in the nude, and ate a lot in bed — shoving what was left on her plate under the sheets before going to sleep," wrote the author.
