CHRIS EVANS COMPLETELY CRUSHES HIS FANS' CAPTAIN AMERICA DREAMS
By LILY FREIBERG
At the end of the last "Avengers" movie, Steve Rogers, AKA Captain America (Chris Evans), retires and hands over his role to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), AKA The Falcon. However, some fans still hope Evans will make future appearances as Cap, including in the new Disney+ series "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier."
"The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" explores how Sam Wilson, a modern-day African-American man, carries on the legacy of Captain America. As for Evans' potential involvement, the actor sent out a simple tweet that implied that he is not returning to the role of Cap, and emphasized that all future Captain America projects will be Sam Wilson's story.
When The Hollywood Reporter tweeted about an upcoming fourth Captain America movie, saying "it is unclear" if Evans would return, the star simply replied, "Sam Wilson is Captain America." In 2021, Evans was rumored to return to the role someday, but now we have official word from our former Captain: it's Sam Wilson and Anthony Mackie's time to shine.
