Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth shocked fans when they divorced after eight months of marriage. Cyrus found love again with another good-looking Australian, singer Cody Simpson, but they, too, split up — here's more about their relationship, and what Simpson has said about it.

TMZ first captured Cyrus and Simpson sharing a kiss in October of 2019, and the couple was never shy about PDA and had Simpson's mother's full approval. Almost two years after their split in 2020, Cody gave a candid interview about why he and Miley broke up.

Simpson said that his new swimming career threw a wrench into his relationship. "I knew I was going to have to move back to Australia to do it properly," he said, "and [Miley] was just going into her whole new album, was gonna be going out on tour. It was a fork in the road kind of scenario".

Luckily, there's no bad blood between Simpson and Cyrus; Cody said he enjoyed spending most of COVID-19 lockdown with the "Wrecking Ball" singer. He still has big aspirations for his swimming career, with his sights set on the Paris 2024 Olympics.
