DENZEL WASHINGTON BREAKS SILENCE ON THE WILL SMITH CONTROVERSY

After consoling Smith at the Oscars, Washington says he's not the kind of person to just sit there and let a moment like that unfold, and he’s been praying ever since. Smith has apologized for the incident, sharing his regret during his Best Actor acceptance speech, and says he was "heartbroken" upon his resignation from the Academy on April 1. The Academy is set to discuss matters further at their next board meeting on April 18.
