ELLIOT PAGE GETS HONEST ABOUT HIS LIFE AFTER COMING OUT AS TRANSGENDER
By BRANDON BOMBAY
Elliot Page came out as transgender in December 2020, posting a heartfelt message to Instagram: "I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life." The actor has spoken about his past roles, saying "I just never recognized myself" on-screen, but everything has changed for the better for him.
On June 21, 2022 appearance on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," Page said that coming out improved my life drastically." He hasn't let transphobes deter him and is focusing on the joy he feels, and being himself has "made me better in so many facets, like as a person, as a friend, and [in] relationships," he told Meyers.
Page's feelings shared on the late-night show were echoed in another interview earlier that month. Page told Esquire on June 1, "I know I look different to others, but to me I'm just starting to look like myself"; he added that he never thought the reaction to his coming out and public transition would be "so big."
