Songwriter Kandi Burruss' talent for creating Grammy award-winning singles such as TLC's "No Scrubs" is part of the reason why she's so financially comfortable today. One could also argue that Burruss' time on television has secured just as much wealth for her, if not more — here's how she accomplished it.
It's reported that the singer-turned-reality-TV-star rakes in over $100,000 for each episode of "Real Housewives of Atlanta". Utilizing the fame that she gained from the hit reality show, Burruss successfully launched and created her own cosmetic brand, a line of adult sex toys, and her very own restaurant.
"I was a saver as a kid," Burruss told Money.com. "I always wanted to make sure I had something [stashed away], you know?" Even after writing so many hit songs, Burruss didn't splurge right away, and rapper LL Cool J gave her this advice when she was 19: "Always have at least one house and one car that you own."
