JASON MOMOA JUST TOOK A SIDE BETWEEN JOHNNY DEPP AND AMBER HEARD
By BRANDON BOMBAY
The relationship between "Aquaman" co-stars Jason Momoa and Amber Heard is a complicated one, from Momoa's reported frustration about Heard reading books on set to rumors that Heard influenced his divorce. Now, Momoa has taken a stance on a controversy much more infamous than his own.
In the midst of Johnny Depp's $50 million defamation case against Heard, Momoa made a small gesture that may indicate his allegiance. On April 21, Momoa followed Depp on Instagram, and many interpreted the follow as a not-so-subtle hint that the "Dune" star is supporting Depp in his legal battle.
Fans flocked to social media, with one tweeting, "Momoa really just said, 'justice for Johnny Depp' by following him on Instagram and I know the Warner bros team are SCREAMING." Another wrote, "I wonder how he'll do a press tour or whatever with Amber Heard after hearing her confess to abusing JD."
Weeks before Momoa followed Depp, it was reported that studio executives almost dropped Heard from "Aquaman 2" due to chemistry concerns between her and Momoa. It was also reported that text messages from Momoa to and from his "Aquaman" co-star would be used in the Depp-Heard court case.
