Johnny Depp has continued to progress through his defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard, due to her allegations of domestic abuse from him. Depp's sister Christi Dembrowski testified in court about their horrific childhood, to suggest that violence would be out of character for the star.
Depp has said that his mother "was maybe the meanest human being I have ever met in my life," and his sister described how their mother abused them growing up. "She screamed, she yelled, she hit, she threw things, she called us names," Dembrowski said, and added that Depp never fought back.
Depp seemed distraught as Dembrowski recounted their trauma. She also described how Amber Heard had called Depp "old, fat man" when he expressed interest working with Dior: "she was in disbelief and sort of disgust because she said Dior, why would Dior want to do business with you?"
Per a source close to Depp's representatives, "He's not trying to punish [Amber Heard] and humiliate her. He just wants the truth to come out." Meanwhile, Heard's lawyers claim that "You will hear in the most graphic and horrifying terms about the violence that she suffered", allegedly.
