JOHNNY DEPP'S EYE-OPENING TEXTS TO AMBER HEARD'S MOM REVEALED
By SUTTON REEKES
As Johnny Depp's defamation trial against Amber Heard continues, texts Depp sent to Heard's mom before the ex-spouses were married now shine a light on their relationship. Depp is asking for $50 million for damage done to his career due to Heard's domestic violence allegations, evidently against her ex-husband.
During Depp's testimony in court, Heard's attorney read 2014 text messages from Depp to Heard's mother, Paige Parsons. The messages partially read, "There's no luckier man on this earth to have the strength that Amber gives me and the full support of each of you individually that I've gotten helps immeasurably."
The texts continued, "I don't need to explain the horrors to you... Your daughter has risen far above the nightmarish task of taking care of this poor, old junkie. Never a second has gone by that she didn't look out for me or have her eyes on me to make sure that I was okay."
At the time he sent the messages, Depp was struggling with addiction and was headed into detox from painkillers. While Depp said Heard helped in his battle against opioids, he also said she was a "potential trigger to relapse" for him, and he maintains that she was abusive during their relationship.
