KELLY CLARKSON REVEALS WHAT GAVE HER STRENGTH AMID NASTY DIVORCE
By JOANNA MAZEWSKI
Kelly Clarkson hasn't had it easy during her divorce from Brandon Blackstock, with ownership disputes over their Montana property and concerns about the couple's children taking their toll on the country star. However, Clarkson prides herself on being an "open book" and has revealed what gave her strength during her divorce.
On "The Kelly Clarkson Show," Clarkson interviewed Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire, and Emily Strayer of The Chicks. Clarkson started off the conversation by saying, "How did you each find strength?" before adding, "And not just music, I think it's therapeutic. But, like, your female friendships? I feel like that has really helped me."
Clarkson, who has primary custody of her and Blackstock's two kids, admitted that she leaned on her friends to get through the toughest time of her life. In 2020, she told Willie Geist that she was "talking to friends that have been through divorce," adding, "I don't know how people go through that without having some kind of outlet".
