OSCARS PRODUCER CONFIRMS WHAT WE SUSPECTED ABOUT CHRIS ROCK'S JOKE

Will Smith's attack on Chris Rock during the 2022 Oscars was the slap felt around the world. When Rock joked about Smith’s wife Jada’s shaved head — “Jada, I love ya, G.I. Jane 2, can't wait to see it” — Will initially laughed, but then approached Rock on stage and hit him in the face.
The Oscars’ producer, Will Packer, spoke to “Good Morning America” about the altercation. He admitted he thought the incident had been planned by Smith and Rock, but in actuality Rock was just “freestyling” — and as reported by many sources, Rock didn’t know Jada Pinkett Smith has the hair loss disease alopecia.
Packer said the LAPD rushed to the scene and were “laying out the options” to apprehend and punish Will Smith to the full extent of the law. However, Chris Rock stepped in and made sure no legal charges befell Smith, and such a swift and severe police response to an incident involving two Black men is problematic, to say the least.
