SCARLETT JOHANSSON SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON LONG-RUNNING RUMOR

In 2004, when Scarlett Johansson was still single and mingling, a certain rumor began spreading like wildfire. Apparently, she and Benicio del Toro had done the dirty in an elevator at the Chateau Marmont — where, interestingly, del Toro met ex Kimberly Stewart.
The "Black Widow" star sarcastically quipped to Allure, "Apparently there was somebody with us in an elevator and making out or having sex or something — which is very unsanitary." Del Toro was also vague about the rumor: "Let's leave that to somebody's imagination. Let’s not promote it."
On the "9 to 5ish" podcast, Johansson set the record straight and said the rumor is ludicrous, and she can't even imagine how elevator sex works. "I was always thinking to myself, 'That would be tough,'" she said. "It's a very short period, the logistics of that seem so unappealing to me.'"
Johansson added that as "a person who's terrified of being caught doing something I'm not supposed to be doing [...] that made the story [...] absurd to me." This isn't the first rumor she has fought, as she once planned to sue Us Weekly for speculating about possible plastic surgery she had done.
