Aaron Hernandez’ friend Alexander Bradley was shot in the face, and Bradley later filed a lawsuit claiming the athlete targeted him. Months later, Odin Lloyd, who was dating Hernandez's girlfriend's sister, was found dead, and Hernandez was arrested on murder charges and released from the Patriots.
In 2001, Vick and several of his buddies started a dog-fighting operation, the "Bad Newz Kennels," in Virginia. In 2007, their operation caught the attention of law enforcement, and the men were charged with conspiracy to engage in dogfighting, acquiring animals with the purpose of fighting, and more.
Hope Solo's fall from fantastic soccer star to troubled athlete began in 2012 when she tested positive for a banned substance, and things only got worse from there. In 2014, Solo was arrested for domestic violence, and she tackled and berated a police officer during her booking.
Lamar Odom has a long and difficult history with drug usage. Despite a stellar career in the NBA, Odom ended his run with the Dallas Mavericks in 2012 due to his issues, and was later arrested for driving under the influence and found unconscious at a Nevada brothel after a drug binge.
Ray Rice was relatively unknown in the NFL world until February 2014, when TMZ published footage of him dragging his then-fiancée, Janay Palmer, out of an Atlantic City elevator after an altercation. The Baltimore Ravens player was indicted on third-degree aggravated assault.
