THE BRAVO STAR FANS SAY JENNIFER LOPEZ SHOULD THANK FOR HER WEDDING
By NICOLE CORD-CRUZ
As of July 2022, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have finally tied the knot, and fans are expressing gratitude to a Bravo channel star for making it happen. Madison LeCroy of "Southern Charm" is partially credited with reviving "Bennifer" years after Affleck and Lopez originally broke up — but the "thank-yous" are pretty tongue-in-cheek.
Some fans think Madison LeCroy single-handedly destroyed Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez's relationship, thereby making Bennifer's reunion possible. In February 2021, rumors swirled that A-Rod and LeCroy had an affair while the star athlete was still engaged to Lopez; he and Lopez broke up a month after these rumors began.
When Lopez and Affleck announced their marriage, fans just had to joke about LeCroy's supposed involvement. "Do you think JLo and Ben thanked Madison in their vows?" one fan quipped, while another said, "Thank you, Madison LeCroy." Another user tweeted, "Madison absolutely deserve[s] invitations to the Bennifer wedding celebration."
At the time of the affair rumors, LeCroy claimed that Rodriguez "never physically cheated on his fiancée with me," telling Page Six that she and A-Rod never met in person and are "definitely innocent in this." However, she's now embracing fans' cheeky attitude about Bennifer's wedding, telling Us Weekly, "I say you're welcome [...] I'm not bothered".
