Diana Ross and Michael Jackson shared a famously close friendship, which is why it’s no surprise that Jackson left a special request for her in his will.

In the wake of his death, Jackson’s first choice as guardian for his three children, Prince, Paris, and Blanket, was his mother, Katherine Jackson. His second choice was Ross.

While Ross never assumed the role of a guardian for Jackson’s children, her involvement became necessary due to a major feud in 2012, which led to the redrawing of the will.

Under the new custody arrangement, Ross granted her permission for Katherine and her grandson, TJ Jackson, to become co-guardians for Jackson’s children.

An insider told Radar that Ross made this decision with the children’s best interests in mind. Specifically, she was aware that they wanted to live with Katherine and TJ.
