Jamie Lynn’s child caused a rift between her and her father, Jamie Spears, who pressured her to get an abortion, then to give her baby up for adoption. Jamie Lynn tried to escape her family and become independent, eventually writing up emancipation papers, but the process didn’t go through.

Jamie Lynn said of her and Britney’s feud, "This is embarrassing and has to stop," but Britney still openly criticizes her family for their abusive behavior.
