With 24 years of marriage under their belts, it's easy to see that talk show host-slash-actor Kelly Ripa and her soap opera co-star Mark Consuelos have an undeniable bond that has withstood the test of time. However, the pair once revealed that they broke up the day before they got married.

The couple got back together — and stayed together — because they recognize that a happy marriage requires constant learning. Ripa has said that marriages are like marathons: ""There's going to be like, mile 24, when you're like, 'I quit' [...] [but] you take a breath, you usually can't remember what you're fighting about."

The pair also went through a rough patch early in their marriage; Consuelos revealed he had a jealous streak that made him paranoid that Ripa was doing things behind his back. However, the couple got over it — looks like the "marathon" approach can remedy even a dire situation like breaking up the day before your wedding.
