After his debut as a teen in “Hocus Pocus,” Sean Murray became known as Special Agent Timothy McGee on “NCIS,” a role he’s played for 18 years. Fans have watched Murray evolve over his long tenure on the show, and one of the biggest changes he’s had in life is his dramatic weight loss.

Sean Murray dropped 25 pounds around 2010, and seems to have lost more weight since then, which has concerned some fans. When Special Agent Timothy McGee was shot on “NCIS,” viewers worried that the character may have been killed off because Murray had to leave the show for health reasons.

It turns out both Murray and Agent McGee are perfectly fine. In an interview, Murray confirmed that his character doesn’t die, and in a tweet, he explained his personal weight loss: "[T]o those who have asked what I did to lose the 25 lbs: 14 months of no alcohol and almost no sugar. ate strictly organic.”

Murray’s change in appearance seemed drastic to some “NCIS” fans, but he explained that he lost the weight gradually. He tweeted to viewers that “You can actually see me gradually lose the weight over the 24 (episodes) of Season 7. Slowly, a pound every week or two. Watch the DVDs.”
