Gal Gadot, born and raised in Israel, wanted to keep up with the boys from the get-go. "I was a tomboy. Always with wounds and scratches on my knees," she once said.
Despite getting many modeling offers as a teen, she chose to work at Burger King. Standing around looking pretty didn't appeal to her, but she had no idea that would soon change.
"I never thought I would win," the "Wonder Woman" star told W Magazine. However, she did win, and Gadot also participated in the Miss Universe competition the same year.
Following her Miss Israel victory, Gadot fulfilled her two-year requirement in the Israel Defense Forces but caught the attention of Maxim in the process.
As the actress revealed to Vogue, “By the second date he told me, ‘I'm going to marry you,’” — and he was right. Gadot and Varsano tied the knot in 2008.
Gadot was all set to join law school post her time in the military until the casting director of the James Bond film "Quantum of Solace" took notice of her.
While she lost out on the part in the film, it inspired Gadot to hire her own acting coach, and she soon found herself starring in "Bubot" — an Israeli television series.
