The Tragic Death Of Rosalynn Carter
By MAXINE PAGE
Eleanor Rosalynn Carter, the wife of former President Jimmy Carter, passed away on November 19 at the age of 96, shortly after being diagnosed with dementia.
The former first lady married President Carter in 1946, the same year she graduated from Georgia Southwestern College. The couple went on to have four children.
While Rosalynn played a crucial role in her husband’s presidential campaigns and stood by him throughout, she didn’t necessarily live in President Carter’s shadow.
In fact, Rosalynn was a passionate and outspoken advocate for mental health research, elderly care, and issues affecting women and children. She also authored five books.
