Russell Brand’s sister-in-law, TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher made headlines for all the wrong reasons in 2017 when she was charged with driving under the influence.

Gallacher eventually opened up about the long series of traumatic events that led up to her DUI arrest in a 2019 interview with The Mail on Sunday's You magazine.

First, in 2013, her dad, pro golfer Bernard Gallacher, suffered a nearly fatal cardiac arrest. Then, in 2014, Gallacher’s four-year marriage to rugby player

Paul Sampson ended.

Rather than taking her time to process everything, Gallacher then hastily signed up to compete on “Strictly Come Dancing” in 2015. “It all tipped me over

the edge,” she confessed.
