Chadwick Boseman and his wife Simone Ledward were first spotted together in 2015, and the very private couple always kept a low profile. In fact, it was not known that Boseman and Ledward were married until after the prolific actor's death in August 2020, and Ledward has done much to keep her husband's legacy alive.

Chadwick Boseman earned his first nomination for Golden Globe Award posthumously, and Ledward has accepted multiple awards on her late husband's behalf, including a Gotham award in January 2021. At the ceremony, Ledward gave a heartbreaking and powerful speech paying tribute to the talented, authentic "Black Panther" star.

"As an artist, an actor, and a person, Chad made a practice of telling the truth," Ledward said. "He is the most honest person I've ever met because he didn't just stop at speaking the truth; he actively searched for it. The truth can be a very easy thing for the self to avoid, but if one does not live in truth, then it's impossible to live in line with a divine purpose for your life."

In March 2019, Boseman won the award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture at the NAACP Image Awards, and he said in his speech, "Simone, you're with me every day. I have to acknowledge you right now. Love you." It's clear that Ledward is still with her husband, and he is with her, even after his passing from cancer.
