The following story contains discussion of the drowning death of Naya Rivera.
Naya Rivera was declared missing on July 8, 2020, after she disappeared during an outing with her young son, Josey, at Lake Piru. Tragically, Rivera was confirmed to have drowned, and with the "Glee" star's passing comes renewed interest in her background, such as her past relationship with David Spade.
In March 2017, Rivera and Spade ignited dating rumors when they were seen hanging out together in Hawaii, according to Entertainment Tonight. The two stars were soon spotted going out on the town in Waikiki; a source told Us Weekly that River and Spade were in a "casual" relationship.
However, the couple's romance ended almost as soon as it began. Rivera called off her divorce with her (almost) ex-husband Ryan Dorsey in October 2017, which may have had something to do with her split from Spade, though neither of the stars confirmed that they were actually dating at any point.
