The White House Shares Somber Message Following The Queen's Tragic Death

The tragic death of Queen Elizabeth II has sent shockwaves through the world, and mourners gathered outside of the gates to pay their respects. Many countries, including the United States, have also weighed in on the profound loss.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre issued a brief statement when she learned of her passing in the middle of a press conference. Jean-Pierre said, “Our hearts and our thoughts go to the family members of the queen, goes to the people of [the] United Kingdom. I don't want to get ahead of what the President is going to say.”
Many other countries have broken their silence, with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stating on Twitter, “It was with the heaviest of hearts that we learned of the passing of Canada's longest-reigning Sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. She was a constant presence in our lives — and her service to Canadians will forever remain an important part of our country's history.”
