In 2014, “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice and ex-husband Joe Giudice were convicted for bankruptcy fraud, mail fraud, wire fraud, and failure to pay taxes. After Teresa spent 11 months in prison — with Joe sentenced to 41 months — she lost quite a bit of her fortune.

The Giudices sold their home for $2.2 million in the aftermath of their conviction, and Teresa spent quite a lot paying back her default taxes. Her and Joe’s bankruptcy case was dismissed in 2018, but they still had to pay off the IRS and New Jersey state treasury, eventually agreeing to a payment plan.

When she and Joe were caught hiding their incomes, Teresa stated that “I support Joe and, as a wonderful husband and father, I know he wants only the best for our lovely daughters and me [...] I am hopeful that we will resolve this matter with the Government as quickly as possible.” The couple divorced in 2019.

Teresa is now worth $500 thousand, a number mostly made up of her appearances on reality shows. While she and her ex-husband may still have debts, she’s working hard to increase her income through social media, her haircare and cocktail line, and her many bestselling cookbooks.
