Tragic Details About Camilla Parker Bowles' Life You Didn't Know
By LINDSEY B.

Love And Marriage

Long before Camilla Parker Bowles was known as then-Prince Charles' mistress, the two had been in a fair-game relationship until she was considered unsuitable for the future king.
The royal family disliked that Camilla’s family wasn’t landed nobility and that she had an extensive relationship history. With no hope left, Camilla married Andrew Parker Bowles.

Brutal Public Eye

Since Princess Diana was well-liked, the public viewed her as wronged by then-Prince Charles and Camilla's affair, and a sea of harsh comments were unleashed on Camilla.
According to Tina Brown, who wrote "The Palace Papers," Camilla became "public enemy number one" after Diana's death and was also once considered the "most hated woman in Britain."

Strained Relationships

Camilla has faced quite a struggle to get Princes William and Harry to accept her; however, the former eventually came around and lives in harmony with his stepmother.
"Harry, on the other hand, can't stand Camilla, he doesn't want Camilla to be queen, he's very angry that it's happening,” journalist and author Tina Brown told The Telegraph.

A Suffering Mother

Camilla’s late mother suffered from osteoporosis, a painful condition that weakens bones and can cause the sufferer to experience fractures from typical daily activities.
“When a friend of hers came in one day just to give her a hug, her rib broke. It was as bad as that," Camilla explained. "We just watched her shrinking before our eyes."

Losing Her Father

Camilla’s father Major Bruce Shand, who had served in World War II and was a cancer survivor, reportedly died of natural causes in 2006, which left the queen consort heartbroken.
Camilla had been close with her father, who had personally and publicly supported her during the media circus of her affair with then-Prince Charles.
