TWITTER IS TRULY DIVIDED OVER HILLARY CLINTON'S MET GALA ATTENDANCE
By SUTTON REEKES
Known as the Super Bowl of fashion, the Met Gala allows celebrities to glitter on the Met's steps before heading to see the new exhibition. But this year, it's not just actors, musicians, and influencers on the red carpet, but politicians such as Hillary Clinton — and her appearance is causing a stir.
The former Secretary of State wore a burgundy off-the-shoulder gown by Joseph Altuzarra, and embroidered in the off-the-shoulder detailing were the names of 60 women Clinton admires. The names included the likes of Rosa Parks, Lady Bird Johnson, and Dorothy Rodham, Clinton's mother.
Putting the names of inspiring women on her dress was a way for Clinton to honor them and bring them into the Met. While a lot of Twitter users were confused as to why Clinton was at the gala at all, many of them also loved her gown: "Such a brilliant idea and beautiful design. She looks radiant," one user wrote.
