Jonathan Bailey, AKA Anthony Bridgerton, became an overnight sensation as the lead role in Season 2 of “Bridgerton,” and fans were immediately obsessed with him on and off the screen. However, “Bridgerton” is far from Bailey’s first role, and he had an impressive long acting career before the hit Netflix series.
Bailey began his theater career at just six years old, starring in productions such as “A Christmas Carol” and “Les Miserables;" he got his break at age 20 with “The Girl With A Pearl Earring.” His role in the musical "Company" even won him an Olivier Award, one of Britain's most prestigious stage honors, in 2019.
Bailey eventually joined the film and television screen with roles in “Five Children And It,” “Leonardo,” “Me & Mrs, Jones,” “Broadchurch,” and more. Though Bailey never saw himself as a leading man and says he wasn't sure “exactly what is required of lead roles," he's done a pretty amazing job as Anthony Bridgerton.
