What Michelle Obama's Ex Secret Service Agent Says She's Really Like
By TESSA HAYLEY HELLBERG
Michelle Obama is known for being warm and very open about who she is with the media. One person who can attest to this authenticity is Cory Allen, her ex-secret service agent.
Allen was first assigned to the Obama family in 2016 as they were leaving the White House and was later specifically tasked with the former First Lady’s protection.
Speaking with Katie Couric Media, Allen revealed that Michelle’s openness inspired him to write his memoir, “Breaking Free: A Saga of Self-discovery by a Gay Secret Service Agent.”
“The way she can just be herself certainly inspired me…I thought it would be amazing if I could make just a fraction of the impact she’s had,” he said of the book.
He revealed that the Obamas asked how he and the other agents were doing, every day. Additionally, Allen told OutClique, “[Michelle] still knew who I was six months after I left.”
In his interview with Pink Media / #ILoveGay, Allen shared that Michelle has a passion for fitness and included all the agents in the weekend workouts she organized for her friends.
“We would go on 14-mile hikes through the Malibu hills, and SoulCycling, and [...] you have to be there, and you have to be involved, because we’re protecting them,” he reminisced.
