TLC's "My 600-lb Life" documents the weight loss journeys of people under the care of Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, and Steven and Justin Assanti are two of the show’s most controversial patients. Steven’s infamously abusive behavior makes fans wonder what sort of progress he and his brother have made, and we have updates.

In 2018, Steven Assanti got married to Stephanie Assanti (née Sanger), who said her husband is “a gentleman and a fantastic lover and lover of life in general." The couple’s scarce online presence sometimes causes speculation about their relationship, but Steven seems happier and healthier today.

Meanwhile, Justin is more active on social media and occasionally speaks to fans, but no longer speaks to his abusive brother. He’s 200 pounds lighter and “enjoying life” away from Steven, and also remarked that while "My 600-lb Life" is heavily scripted and edited, “Steven on the show is Steven in real life.”

Steven, however, claims that the “overdramatized” show’s producers portrayed him in a negative light. He says that "They would tell me that they would put [my good moments] in somewhere, but they don't… they only show me going crazy, and yelling at people, and taking pain pills, and just all the bad stuff."
