“Below Deck” is known for showcasing testy dynamics. Season 10 saw some major tension between Chief Steward Fraser Olender and Captain Sandy Yawn.

The tension began when Yawn filled in for Captain Lee Rosbach and became the new captain for the OG iteration of the franchise. Her unique approach didn’t sit well with Olender.

Yawn had a lot of criticism for Olender’s attempts to be friends with the interior team and called out his management style. She also hushed him when he tried to respond.

At one point, feeling extremely frustrated, Olender confided in the second steward, Alissa Humber, expressing that he wouldn’t care if Yawn fired him and kicked him off the boat.

Things became worse when Yawn pulled Olender aside to address the situation and told him that much of the tension on the boat had been caused by his gossiping.

While Yawn used some inflammatory language, she later apologized for it. Despite their initial drama, Yawn and Olender appear to have reconciled and are on better terms today.
