“Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson was one of the biggest beauty icons of the ‘90s, and cosmetic surgeon Dr. Mark Berman recalls droves of women spending big bucks to look exactly like Pam. However, Anderson now regrets her most famous plastic surgery procedure.
Dr. Berman says Pam Anderson was a “reference point” for plastic surgeries, and she may have directly impacted cosmetic surgery trends, with breast augmentation procedures up by 500% by 1999. But that same year, Anderson got her own breast implants removed for a variety of reasons.
Anderson told Entertainment Tonight that she wanted her natural body back, especially when she began nursing her children. “I feel like I'm a petite person," she said, "and just having these large breasts was, it just didn't feel right any more. [...] I was really kind of being self-conscious of it.”
Anderson has since put down the hair bleach and heavy makeup in favor of a fresher, more natural look. She’s much happier with her appearance, and has a refreshing take on getting older, telling W Magazine that she likes aging and “happiness has a lot to do with beauty.”
