ZENDAYA JUST MADE HISTORY WITH HER EMMY NOMINATION
By BRANDON BOMBAY
In 2020, Zendaya won an Emmy for her portrayal of Rue on HBO's smash hit series "Euphoria." She triumphed over acting veterans such as Laura Linney, Sandra Oh, and Olivia Colman, which would be impressive enough, but Zendaya's hard work on "Euphoria" Season 2 has paid off in a history-changing way.
When the 2022 Emmy nominations came out on July 12, Zendaya was once again nominated for outstanding lead actress in a drama series, making the 25-year-old actor the youngest person ever to be nominated twice in that category. In addition to the acting nom, she also was nominated for a more unexpected award.
Zendaya actually worked as an executive producer on "Euphoria," and she's now been nominated for that work, making her the youngest producer to ever be up for an Emmy. The star's ambitions will not stop at making history twice, as Zendaya told British Vogue: "I gotta hurry up and figure out how to f***ing become a director, man. There's so much I want to do."
