New Christina Aguilera Music Reportedly Coming In May

Christina Aguilera is ready for her return to the spotlight.

According to Us Weekly, the pop star and former The Voice coach is gearing up for the release of some new music. Describing the upcoming tracks as "mostly pop with some R&B sounds," a source told the magazine that Aguilera will drop new songs in May 2018.

The insider added that Aguilera is also "in talks" to perform at the Billboard Music Awards on May 20, as well as at multiple radio music festivals like Wango Tango. "Her team is in full-on planning mode," the source said.

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Aguilera has been teasing new music for a while. In January 2018, Aguilera responded to a fan who placed sticky notes on the singer's Hollywood Walk of Fame asking where her new music was. "It's coming b****es," she wrote on her Instagram Stories, alongside her fan's message.

Since then, Aguilera has reemerged on the celebrity scene, snagging the cover of Paper magazine's "Transformation 2018" issue. In the publication's photos, Aguilera appeared barefaced, sans her usual bold makeup. "I've always been someone that obviously loves to experiment, loves theatrics, loves to create a storyline and play a character in a video or through stage," she said in her Paper interview. "I'm a performer, that's who I am by nature. But I'm at the place, even musically, where it's a liberating feeling to be able to strip it all back and appreciate who you are and your raw beauty."
