Fans Slam SZA's 'The Weekend' Video
Not everyone's happy with SZA's latest release.
On Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, SZA (real name Solána Imani Rowe) dropped the music video for her song "The Weekend," a track off of her debut album Ctrl. The visual shows SZA dancing slowly in what appears to be a parking garage—and that's about it. While there's no denying that the Solange Knowles-directed video is visually pleasing, many fans are understandably upset. And they're not holding back from criticizing Knowles' lackluster work
"The weekend video looks like solange was just zooming in on sza with snapchat," one Twitter user wrote.
"The problem with the weekend video is solange directed it for solange's taste and image. Not sza's. It also doesn't coincide with the song. Boo," another tweeted.
In response to her fans' less-than-stellar response, SZA tweeted out, "Ever dawn on y'all that maybe u never got the song ? Lol 🤔."
