Celeb Couple Fights Caught On Camera

Many of us well know that even the best relationships can be tough. It's bad enough having a fight with your significant other, let alone in public, and let alone in public with cameras recording it all so that everyone can get in your business on the internet.

Unfortunately for the following famous couples, the ever-intrusive paparazzi was right there to catch some truly uncomfortable—and in some cases disturbing—arguments.

Beyonce and Jay-Z's not so quiet sushi night

On January 30, 2015, megastar couple Beyonce and Jay-Z were captured getting into it at dinner at Sushi Park restaurant in Los Angeles, with Beyonce photographed yelling at her husband. OK Magazine speculated that Jay-Z's non-stop cell phone use during dinner might have been the cause for the conflict, though of course, like so many of life's mysteries, no one can say for sure.

After the infamous 2014 elevator incident that first brought potential difficulties in the relationship to light, both Jay-Z and Beyonce have explored marital conflict in their albums 4:44 and Lemonade, respectively. But all seems well now, as Jay-Z reflected to The New York Times Magazine in November 2017, "[I was] really proud of the music she made, and she was really proud of the art I released. And, you know, at the end of the day we really have a healthy respect for one another's craft. I think she's amazing."

Shia LaBeouf and Karolyn Pho's fight about his work

Actor Shia LaBeouf is fairly well-known for his outlandish public behavior (see: getting booted out of a performance of Cabaret, a 2017 arrest for public drunkenness, his art career, etc.) Accordingly, in August 2012, he and then-girlfriend Karolyn Pho were caught on camera having a "tearful exchange" in Los Angeles, as the New York Daily News reported.

Rumors swirled that Pho was upset regarding LaBeouf's participation in real, non-simulated sex scenes for Lars Von Trier's movie Nyphomaniac (...understandably?), though she later told the New York Daily News, "It's none of anybody's business. Everything is fine with us. It was nothing affiliated with his movie...We're normal people who have normal lives."

And yet, in November 2012, the Daily Mail reported that the couple had split for good.

Shia LaBeouf and Mia Goth took their troubles international

More Shia, more serious on-camera relationship drama. This time it was with his then-girlfriend, now-wife Mia Goth (who was also his co-star in Nyphomaniac). As Entertainment Tonight revealed, cameras caught the couple on video having a huge fight in July 2015 in Tubingen, Germany.

The disturbing footage shows LaBeouf walking away from the argument and getting into a car with some locals, telling them, "I don't want to touch a woman, I don't want to hit a woman, but I'm being pushed." After Goth attempts to speak with him again, he can be heard saying, "I don't wanna touch you. I don't wanna be aggressive. This is the kind of s**t that makes a person abusive."

Kirsten Dunst And Garrett Hedlund fought near a theater

Back in 2012, actress Kirsten Dunst had just started seeing her On the Road co-star Garrett Hedlund, when cameras caught the pair having a spat on their way to a movie theater. They stayed together for another four years, and things seemed to be going well; Dunst told Town & Country in 2015 (via E! Online), "We're the same age. We have similar backgrounds...He feels like family to me."

Family or not, Us Weekly broke the news in April 2016 that any future movie dates were off, because Dunst and Hedlund had split.

Charles Saatchi appeared to choke Nigella Lawson in shocking photos

People the world over were shocked when photos emerged in June 2013 that showed celebrity chef Nigella Lawson being choked by her then-husband Charles Saatchi during an argument. Lawson reportedly left the restaurant where the altercation occurred in tears, and moved out of the couple's home shortly thereafter.

After the incident, Saatchi told The Evening Standard"There was no grip, it was a playful tiff. The pictures are horrific but give a far more drastic and violent impression of what took place. Nigella's tears were because we both hate arguing, not because she had been hurt." Police (and the public) didn't agree, however, and Saatchi was cautioned for assault after an investigation into his behavior.

The BBC reported that Saatchi and Lawson were officially divorced in July 2013, after ten years of marriage.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries caught quarreling in the car

It's no secret that the union between Kim Kardashian and NBA star husband Kris Humphries was notoriously short-lived (their marriage lasted a brief 72 days). Just a few days prior to Kardashian filing for divorce on October 31, 2011, the pair were caught on camera by TMZ having a heated fight in her car after going to dinner. Kardashian later revealed to the Hollywood Reporter in August 2017 that she'd known even before the $6 million wedding that the relationship was doomed.

After a drawn-out case that lasted longer than the actual relationship, the divorce was finalized in April 2013.

Emma Roberts and Evan Peters' arguments got physical

Things with American Horror Story co-stars Emma Roberts and Evan Peters may be all fine and dandy now (at least according to recent engagement rumors), but back in July 2013, cameras caught the couple in the aftermath of a serious physical fight.

The New York Daily News reported that on July 7 that year, Montreal police responded to a report of domestic disturbance in a hotel room. They discovered Peters with a "bloody nose and a bite mark," and arrested Roberts. Peters chose not to file charges again Roberts, however, and paps caught a dramatic scene as a distraught Roberts hugged him as the news made headlines.

Adrienne Maloof and Sean Stewart's philanthropic throwdown

In addition to their almost 20 year age difference, it seemed that other issues plagued the brief relationship between Rod Stewart's son Sean Stewart and former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Adrienne Maloof. In case you don't remember, the couple dated for a few months in 2013, broke up, then briefly got back together before splitting for good.

TMZ spotted the pair fighting next to the red carpet at a charity event back in September 2013, and it seemed to signal the real end to their on-off relationship, as Maloof appeared at an event just a couple hours later with another much younger man, Jacob Busch, by her side.

Stewart later claimed to Maloof's former Real Housewives co-star Brandi Glanville on her podcast, "I do want to clear up one rumor... She NEVER broke my heart." Noted.

Was it allergies or aggression during this tense moment for Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk?

Cameras caught what appeared to be a super awkward tiff between actor Bradley Cooper and his girlfriend, model Irina Shayk, at the 2016 Wimbledon Men's Final.

As Us Weekly narrated, video footage shows Cooper whispering in Shayk's ear, while she appears to cry and turn her head away from the actor. Cooper then went back to watching the tennis as Shayk sat in silence beside him. You can almost cut the tension with a knife, though TMZ later reported that sources close to the couple claimed Shayk was simply battling pollen allergies.

Whatever the case, they clearly resolved the (potentially non-existent) issue, and went on to have a baby in 2017.

In fairness, don't we all want to scream at Simon Cowell?

Anyone who has watched American Idol knows that Simon Cowell can be quite the "difficult personality." It certainly seemed that he'd rubbed partner Lauren Silverman the wrong way back in September 2013 when cameras caught the couple having what appeared to be a screaming match in the back of an SUV.

The pair, who were expecting their first child together at the time, had previously attracted tabloid attention when reports revealed that her relationship with Cowell began while she was still married to his friend, Andrew Silverman. Sordid love triangles and SUV fights aside, they're still going strong as of this writing.

Megan McKenna and Pete Wicks fought in the street for TOWIE

Much of British star Megan McKenna's career focus has been on her music, however her journey to the charts took some serious detours into reality television. As such, her stints on Celebrity Big Brother, Ex on the Beach, and The Only Way Is Essex have defined her more in the cultural zeitgeist than her turnes. On the latter show, her relationship (or demise thereof, rather) with co-star Pete Wicks became a major plot point on the show's 2017 season.

About a week after McKenna and Wicks' tear-filled split aired on TOWIE, the pair took the drama to the streets — literally, in what The Sun described as "an explosive row [that] threatened to turn violent." Although they were apparently shooting a scene for the reality series, things got so out of hand, production staffers eventually intervened and separated the exes, who were, at times, nose-to-nose, screaming at, and man-handling one another.

Although the reality stars just couldn't move past Wicks' texting scandal —Wicks was caught sending racy messages to model Jacqui Ryland during his time with McKenna — they did seem to end up on friendly terms. On a cute, if not slightly awkward run-in during a 2019 episode of Celebs Go Dating, they even exchanged a kiss and briefly flirted.
